Default If you want to install your jbr battery tray without the use of zip ties

In the how to section.
How to: Use your stock ecu cover with JBR battery tray and 3.5 intake

I'll give a bit of feedback here for you Jamie as I found it a pain in the ass that you didn't use all 3 oem mounting points. Not sure why, but I am sure you could have put the two required tabs on the long side of the battery tray and it would probably be just as structurally sound.

Just an opinion. Not that I know anything about designing or producing aftermarket parts.

We needed to utilize mounting locations that were common between both GENS.

Also, I strongly recommend to people that read the "how to" NOT to remove the white plastic wire harness cover OR cut the ECU cover. If and when the time comes to sell the car and if the person looking to buy it has any idea what they're looking at, they will not be too keen on buying it. The dealer will sure as shit void your warranty if they see that wire harness cover removed or the ECU cover cut. They know exactly what they're looking at. We positioned and located the ECU there so none of the factory wiring loom had to be modified.

Warranty is long past gone and I own my cars for as long as I can. Which is until they are run into the ground.

No plans on selling it until it is required to be part out!

Plus the plastic wire cover/ mount can easily be reattached by clipping it back on and the only thing that DOESN'T work on the ecu cover if you reattach is it the bottom is it is missing a bottom nut. Which doesn't impede anything IMO.

Don't you think it would be silly for a dealer to void warranty for a missing piece of plastic?
What if a piece of plastic broke in your engine bay? Would they void warranty because they think you broke it? Doesn't make sense to me.
edit: That would mean the dealer would void warranty for the fact that the plastic battery box is no longer there because I have an aftermarket part too.

I think you may be missing the point. The majority of the guys who sell there cars stock out first OR stock out for dealer visits. If the ECU cover is cut or the white plastic wire loom cover is missing; it's pretty obvious something was done to the car.

That plastic wire loom cover doesn't just break either.

I'm just trying to give sound advice; what's chosen to be done with it......?

Yes agreed that majority of the case is as you stated.

I'm not saying your advice isn't sound, just providing an alternative to people who plan to keep the car for as long as possible like myself and don't want to have things held together by zip ties.

I don't think I said the wire loom cover broke. you can take it off and put it back on pretty easily. Tested it out before doing anything.
