Default JBR Catch Can Bracket Failure

Just a FYI to everyone with old JBR Catch Cans. Make sure you either have some Zip ties holding the catch can onto your car or have your underbelly pan in place. I recently had my mount break off the can and the catch can fell and hit the asphalt as I was driving. Made nice scratches and a good hole in the bottom of it. Had to get some JB Weld and fix her up along with a new plug for the drain hole. Otherwise the can held up very well.

This is the old Model JBR Catch Can that had the pre-redesigned mount on it. I'm not paying to get a replacement so I just JBWelded the mount back on with Zip ties holding it to multiple points in case it snaps again(shouldn't)

Looks like the same one I have. How long have you had it installed?

Same one I have as well. It seemed like a flimsy little thing and I worried about it breaking but it's holding up for me, installed two years

it's a shit bracket, but he's not the only one that cuts corners when it comes to brackets. the best one i've seen to date is the corksport one that has 2 bolts into the can and uses 2 points of attachment on the frame.

My catch can bracket fail. I just made a better bracket at work until I can get a damond motorsports can.

If the original bracket design was thicker, it wouldn't be a problem.

honestly the damond bracket isn't all that great. it holds the cans fine but it could have been done better. when I'm under my car again I'll be adding a part to hold them up better.

Our new cans include thicker stainless steel brackets which also work with our older catch cans. You could have called and we would have sent you one.

Perfect! Since the can has not been modified from its original state, I will gladly take you up on that. I simply reused the existing holes with my bracket.

I'm guessing it's either 304 or 316 stainless. 1/8" thick.
