Not too familiar with where "toggles" is located in ATR, at least the one i have, but i ordered this today and need to get this on my map. CEL's drive me batshit crazy. If someone could maybe do a screenshot or something and point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.

| Not Ranked : 0 score It just helps to clean up the engine bay. When you plug the other end, you can completely remove the tube that connects the IM to the EGR. You also don't have to worry about stripping the screws when putting the tube back on over the block-off plate. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Ordered. Is there any additional information about the effects of blocking off the EGR? I read that the exhaust is re-circulated into the engine to burn off the remaining fuel and to cool the engine down. Are there issues with the engine heating up too much when the EGR plate is installed, or is this negligible?

| Not Ranked : 0 score It's for the benefit of emissions only. In our cars it allows exhaust gas into the intake manifold. In combination with oil from our PCV system (also for emissions) this exhaust/oil mixture flows with the air into the engine. Over time a buildup of this gets deposited on the intake valves as crud (several pictures are on the forum). This crud can/does affect airflow past the intake valves causing performance issues if it gets bad enough. In traditional manifold mounted fuel injected engines this isn't as big a concern, because the fuel injectors atomize the fuel directly onto the intake valves "washing" them as the engine runs. With our engines we get nothing but the exhaust/oil mixture hitting the intake valves. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score i just installed my JBR EGR block off + plug Everything went mostly well. Aside from not having an industrial sized alan wrench handy...so the plug was sealed + finger tightened until i can get a proper size to get it torqued all the way my EGR tube looked like all the other ones ive ever seen...a caked layer of black shit in the tube. Like those commercials with plaque buildup in naggers arteries and shit. had to remove the throttle body to get to the plug...was hoping to avoid it but its necessary. Theres plenty of oil deposits in the intake manifold. I need an OCC. Im sure when i do the seals my valves will look like ass. Super exciting. theres a little bit of oil residue around my head gasket area...is this normal? im hoping so (obviously). Anyway...thanks to jamie!!

| Not Ranked : 0 score Has anyone noticed any difference in fuel economy as a result of blocking the EGR? Just curious because we were talking about gas prices at work today. It makes sense to me that if all that crap ISNT going into the combustion chamber the fuel would burn cleaner...

| Not Ranked : 0 score Great! Thanks! So, just remove that EGR pipe and plug the hole, and don't use the plate thingy, correct?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Just curious, would blocking off this affect the catalysts in any way? I'm really just curious. This member from another forum said this is going to kill the catalysts. Just want to know what to say to him. Thanks!

| Not Ranked : 0 score So the gasket that comes off the egr tube you need to reuse? i just used permatex high temp gasket in a tube. Anway install went great last night. Should you not want to replace the tube after installing the plate, be sure to have a couple #8 or 10 washers lieing around. The bottom screw wouldnt go in all the way without 2 washers

| Not Ranked : 0 score Installed just the plate today, didn't want to bother with the plug. I didn't need any extra washers for the bottom bolt, mine is a gen1. I didn't reuse the stock gasket, just loaded the plate up with high temp copper sealant. Loaded a revised AP map with P0401 unchecked and the car runs like a champ. LFTF's are still 0 at idle and still maintains +/- ~4, like before the install, so everything is sealed up. Thanks for the great service JBR! I was going to buy the SU one, but yours is much better, and shipping is friendly to us Canadians. SU wants $35 shipping for the EGR plate!!! If you made a CDFP, I'd be more than happy to give you $1000 over CP-E!! |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Has anyone noticed an increase of coolant temps after installing the block off plate? I know the EGR valve is supposed to help cool the block so by blocking it off, you probably run a bit hotter. I have my Dashhawk set to warn if temps are over 100 degrees C (212F) and for the last couple of days after the install, I'll get the alarm, usually when I'm driving around at very low speeds in a parking lot looking for a place to park. My coolant level is fine, even has a bottle of Redline water wetter. I'll try rebleeding the system in case there's air. |
