The EGR system is not operational at idle or WOT; only when running at part-throttle in closed loop. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

| Not Ranked : 0 score i have seen some elevated coolant temps ive seen a tad upwards of 200 but only after idle at long stoplights...definitely no where near 215 and such cruising on the highway ill see about 190 city is 185ish stop and go is 180-185 wot tend to drop coolant temps pretty dramatically if it ever hits 200 or so...i would have thought the opposite

| Not Ranked : 0 score I ordered mine today. I have some noobie questions to go along with it: I read over the sister thread about "cleaning" this area and it mentions putting the egr pipe in parts cleaner. Should I be using parts cleaner for all the areas with carbon built up (for instance the intake manifold and actualy EGR? Basically when I install this, I want to clean everything while I am at it. I didn't really see a how to regarding exactly what to use to clean (other than a coat hanger to unclog...lol) Thanks a bunch, Zulu

| Not Ranked : 0 score Okay I'm kind of confused on your question. Are you going to delete your EGR or keep it? If you are going to delete it you would plug the pipe end with the plate and the EGR end with the plug so there wouldn't be any reason to clean either one unless you planned on putting it back on at a later date. As far as cleaning you intake. You could take it off and clean it by hand or seafoam it. DIY: Sea Foam

Are there any other areas that will have lots of carbon build up other than the intake manifold? And for those areas can I use seafoam as well? I am asking because I'm new to this and I was reading about fuel pump internals and people were talking about how careful you had to be. I'm not sure what needs to be handled in a specific way and what doesn't. Thanks, -Zulu

| Not Ranked : 0 score The valves on DI cars are notorious for carbon build up and the seafoam will take care of that. You can't have too many miles considering your year. Keep in mind when you do all this stuff, I assume you still have new car warranty, that you'll have to put all this stuff back to stock if you have a dealer visit whether its and oil change or warranty work. You won't have any contact with the fuel pump so that's no problem just make sure that you follow the directions carefully that's a given though. Edit: You know this will cause a check engine light correct? Just thought I'd throw that out there. If you have an AP you can get rid of it.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Just read this entire thread. In a couple weeks I'll be doing car maintenance galore, and that will include this block off kit...plus a spin on conversion, an oil change, sea foam, tranny fluid change (possibly)...gonna be a good day.

| Not Ranked : 0 score So would this still be beneficial to someone with a fully clogged EGR pipe? I'm about to order the kit and the OCC anyways, but I was curious as to that point.
