I wonder if it moves the shift lever just a little too much to the right, but I don't know how much forgiveness there is in that mechanism...
There is an adjustment for gate alignment.

Maybe you should include those instructions with the product? I wasn't aware that could be an issue when I bought it... Thanks for the tip though.

Sorry, I'm not an expert at everything automotive (always trying to learn). All I had questioned was whether or not it might have been a good idea to mention that the use of this plate might require the shifter to be adjusted. As a fellow small business owner, I know the importance of keeping my clients/customers happy. I just thought you could have been a little more friendly with your advice (rather than standoffish). I'm sorry for questioning your companies professionalism. Take care.

Bought this along with solid shifter bushings. Night and day. I didn't realize how far gone my lockout was until I slapped this bad boy in. No wonder my 1st and 2nd shifts were so out of whack. I was all the way in reverse territory. Thanks for the product! Now I'm eyeing up that short shifter. Hmm...

Just received mine today. Well made and perfect fit. Takes about 10 min to install and a slight adjustment of the shifter cable. Thanks JBR! Putting it into reverse is solid as well as the shift from first to second. My original plastic wasn't worn too much either.

Default 2012 shifter problems

hi everyone! i am brand new to the mazda world. i just bought a 2012 MS3 and i absolutely love it!! the only problem i have with it is the reverse lockout does not work so as you all know, it will shift right into reverse without pushing on the shifter :/. i saw the part from JBR to fix this problem but then realized it said its only for 07-09. my question is, will that part work for my '12 or is there another part i need that im not seeing? any and all help would be HUGELY appreciated. thank you!!

There's a different part for the 2nd Gen. Oddly, I only see it available as a package deal from JBR along with the adjustable short shifter for some reason.

@jbarone; is the 2nd Gen MS3 gate guide available for purchase on its own, or is it only compatible along with the short shifter?

We have it available but it only comes with our GEN 2 short shifter. The gate guide itself is not compatible with the OEM shifter.

I was just looking at my OEM shifter yesterday and noticed all the wear from the reverse lock out pin... I was wondering if someone made this and BAM JBR does.
