I'm rocking your JBR short shifter plate. Should that be removed and the stock plate/weight be put back on when installing this or is it fine to use both of them? Any drawbacks to using both? I'll be ordering as well.

And for all you genpoo people be quiet! It's only fair the Gen1 folks get this product first since ours came out first. You'll get your shifter within the next few years just like your car came out after ours. Be patient my friends!

We are testing the combination of the shift plate and shifter together. At this time I would not run the pair until we've had the time test it for a while.

So I've got money and a pu, when can I fondle a jbr rod in my car.... I've got pretty much everything else from jbr on the car so it's only fitting. I got a nice comment on the jbr "mount it" license plate frame recently too.

tapatalk, it sucks for free.

Wrapping them up. I should have them online tomorrow. Actually, I'm tired and too lazy to finish them tonight. They will be done before anyone get their shifter.

This may sound dumb but besides the obvious of shortening the height and throw does it address the inherent slop in the stock shifter?

As a Pu owner I'm patiently waiting as I removed a SSP because the shift feel wasn't great despite the reduced throw and this will likely resolve that.

That's what hits the pipe? The counterweight? Have you tried screwing it on the top of the SSP??

Ok, way too late my comment :/

I'm just going to say it again for the pu guys, I've got money for a new short shifter and i was going to buy a corksport, but since i saw this I'm rethinking that as an option. If this isn't something that is too far down the line id be willing to wait for a JBR.

tapatalk, it sucks for free.

What's the approximate time frame for this Jamie? I was going to buy your shifter and the Serious Speed guard, but if you are making one I assume it will be able to be bought as a bundle with the shifter, so I would like to wait to get them together.

I got mine today and installed it. It feels great. I had to get used to it being much shorter than stock. It's a direct replacement and the online instructions were easy to follow. Thanks @jbarone;

I bought and installed by @Chron; a used COBB adjustable sts like three weeks ago, I'm really thinking about selling it and buying JBR's sts. Is there a big difference in the two? I know the COBB sits a little towards the passenger side, seeing the pictures it looks like JBR's sits a little further back.

Update after install: I've been driving on this for a day now.

Initial thoughts:

-Sits lower than I had originally anticipated, however, this just takes some getting used to. Not a real issue.

-Shifts overall feel better than they did with the JBR SSP. I always felt a bit of a grind when shifting into 4th on the SSP. Not with the STS.

-Install was fairly straightforward. My two hang ups were removing the left (black) shifter cable. I ended up using a pair of needle nose pliers in place of the screw driver. I just couldn't get the right angle with the screw driver. Also had some issues when pulling back the retaining teeth. This just takes some patience.

- I also lost a shifter bushing when trying to fit the cage back in place. The bushing slid down off to the left between the body and the carpet somewhere. That's what I get for trying to do this at midnight (Now JBR gets more of my money for new bushings, lesson learned).

-I also can't get the JBR Heavy Shift Knob to line up straight while being tight. I'm working on a quick solution for that.

Other than that, I'm happy with the product so far. Shifts feel better than with the SSP, no grinding.

Glad this item came along. It's a great purchase at this price point and easy install. Had I not been watching a moving, install should really have only taken ~1 hr.

Opening the retaining teeth and the bushings were probably the hardest part of the install. I dropped the bushings so many times. I also got the heavy shift knob. I was able to get it tight and lined up. At first it wasn't turned enough so I put some power behind it and lined it up perfectly.

I made one out of a 1/8th " aluminum plate for mine.... Not having a reverse lock was annoying as fuck. Damn reverse peg ate the plastic vag. Cost me $5 at ace hardware and about 15 min fab and install time. I like Your shifter position, my cock leans to the right

try a couple rubber o-rings just before the bottom of the threads and tighten the knob over them. it should work as a thread stop.

finally a shifter with the proper bend in it that is greatly needed. neither Cobb nor Corksport incorporated this

I got it to work now. Even after trying to tighten it still wouldn't align. I just added some filler material above the internal nut. It's locked into place now.

I pulled my ssp and am back to stock but retained the counter weight from the ssp. Got rid of my oem weight when I installed the ssp.
