@jbarone; any plans on selling a small extension for those of us that want more holy JBR products but are happy with factory height?

Agreed.

Any feedback from those who've installed this piece concerning the height difference?

Like it? Hate it? Indifferent?

I may but it's not in our queue at this time.

The reverse lock out guards should be ready at the end of the month.

I'm curious to see what they look like, as the one I made was crescent moon shaped with 2 tabs for screws

Pretty much the same looking but out of stainless. The reverse lock out pin will dig in to aluminum after time and make engagement difficult.

Gah another jbr product I want! Lol

What's the significance of the reverse lockout. I've never heard it being an issue on these cars.

The reverse pin on our shifters wears the plastic away on the reverse lock plate portion of the shifter assembly

Absolutely recommend this if you would like a shorter throw. I love mine and will never go back to stock. Install was a breeze. Attached is a quick comparison of 5th gear. Stock on the left obviously. It gets rid of lots of the side to side play that the stocker has. I love the price too, well worth it, as many have said. I have pictures of all gears (stock and with STS installed) if anyone is interested in others for comparison.

@jbarone, any update on the use of the JBR STS + SSP?

If this is legit, I will pick one up for my Pu when they come out despite the low height.

I have no reason to lie lol. I love this thing. But I'll add an astrik, I have the jbr SSP installed right now, not sure that has any thing to do with it. I'll be switching to stock today. But it really did get rid of my in gear slop. So much better.
Oh also I'm fully mounted. That may make a difference

Oh also I'm fully mounted. That may make a difference

I'm fully mounted too on 88a. I have the solid shifter bushings, and had the JBR shifter plate for a while. I took off the plate because I was getting an occasional grind, and even with adjusting the shifter cable, it just wasn't 100% comfortable after a while.

I took off just the plate, and kept the JBR weight, and it feels much better. I love the stock height, and don't even mind the stock throw too much, but I hate the slop in the shifter!!! I wasn't sure If it could be eliminated due to the nature of our cable assembly.

is the majority of reduction in shift throw accomplished simply by shortening the length of the shifter or is it in the length and geometry of the cable mount? if extended back to stock height how much shorter will the shift than stock?

I also will buy one of these immediately for my Pu. Was originally going to wait for the CS one (I have a 2011) but I don't like that their sts doesn't include the bend in the shaft. JBR FTW!

I wish I had known about this. I would've waited for the Pu one instead of getting the CS. Damn

Honestly it's a great piece of hardware. The install is a bitch and but one of the guys figured out a great little trick. But Jamie is always first rate with getting stuff out there.

What trick are you talking about? It was actually pretty easy. Only issue I had was getting that little clip back on. But once I aligned the other side, it was simple

The "trick" was based on another short shifter, didn't want to clog up JBR's post. Basically, "using a small pick and 3-4 tiny zip ties, thread the ties through the retainer pin until all the little arms are pushed up".

I have no idea what that means, but i just ordered the short shifter, so I'll find out when it's install time.
