Update on my rmm: 350miles, vibs are pretty much gone. No threadlocker but tested the bolts for tightness a few times, all good. The vibs are too little. Need moar mounts.

~550 miles on the JBR 80 Trilogy, and am really happy with em. It's really surprising how nice it is to drive the 6 when the engine & trans stay where they're supposed to.

The first 70 miles were harsh- vibes and trans whine- totally expected and knew it would be gone soon so didn't stress. Right on 70 miles the first harsh edge eased off and it was amazing- it was like hitting a light switch, the vibes just settled down.

Now, at 550ish miles the trans has quieted down quite a bit- about half the gear whine compared to new, and the only time I get vibes anymore is just off idle when I rev the engine. I'm running the stock idle, bump it up a touch and even that would go away.

For reference, this is on a new engine that still has the balance shaft. I can see the first several hundred miles being pretty harsh if you've done the BSD. At this point tho, I'm already not worried about doing the BSD when this engine gets it's forged bottom end next year...

Yeah, love the Trilogy. It's a good thing....

I don't believe so but I will check them this weekend/early next week.

@Funkster777; I suspect something is not correct with your install or you are very sensitive to NVH. Your description is far from the norm. Look things over and let me know if I can help.

I got all of @jbarone; mounts, the pmm only has one of the bolts and the nut securing it and I don't have any excessive vibes.

Got this morning RMM, just came from shop, my mechanic returned stock one, and said it can't be mounted without cutting piece of metal that holds rear part of mount . What I'm missing here? As I read it is pretty straight forward

There are two tabs at the mounting location on the sub-frame that need to be spread apart and then narrow end of the mount will fit in. Some guys remove them but, with our mount you don't have to. It's a tight fit but it can be done.

I don't believe I am very sensitive to NVH. It was beyond normal from what I've read. @silvapain; and @ Matt Damond; helped put it in. I double checked in later and it was installed correctly. @silvapain; said it was too much during the break-in period. Many others drove with me and it was too much. I removed it (and sold it to anther forum member). I'm running a modificed stock and vibes are significantly less. I only notice them at idle. Sorry it didn't work out.

You have the wriggle the mount to fit but it will work.

I've got the 80A RMM, and the NVH is such that at anything above about 2000rpm, things are OK. Below that, the mirrors shake, and there are rattles throughout much of my interior. There's also a LOT of NVH during decel, in-gear at around 2750-3500rpm (driving relatively aggressively), but that part is MOAR RACECAR than anything else, so I'm OK with it.

I simply "tapped" on those metal tabs with a hammer a few times, and now everything fits like a glove.

Very similar to my AWR mounts, from what I remember. Loud. I was hoping for an improvement compared to the AWR's, but these are definitely not much better in that regard.

I had no vibes at idle and they became worst with rpm. ~3000 was the worse. Everything was shaking in the car: mirrors, change, tools, people. I'm OK with what I'm running now as it is stronger than stock but not too crazy. This is not to knock JBR as his stuff is great. My car appears to react differently to things. It is what it is.

My mount has certain parts in the low band where it vibrates but not bad at all. Kinda disapointed, looks like i need to order the other two.

Wow, I think JBR are by far better than the AWR mounts. I ran the AWR TMM and PMM with an old school SU RMM for 20k miles and the vibes were horrible. Deceleration felt like the front end was going to vibrate out from under the car. Engine noise was also louder with AWR. Part of that may have been because the AWR TMM bushing was destroyed and the PMM mount did not set the engine level.

My JBR mounts are not even broken in yet, 500 miles on TMM and RMM and only 50 miles on PMM mount and I love them so far. My mirrors vibrate more from my catted DP and CP-E 3" dual exhaust than from the mounts. The engine just feels solidly mounted and shifts are butter smooth.

It's so damn strange how big of a variance you will get in reports of NVH. I understand everyone has different tolerance but some of these stories are too far apart to think that is the only issue.

How can one guy think it's chattering the fillings out of his teeth and completely un-driveable while another says vibes are barely noticeable after the break in period?

I agree completely which is why I haven't jumped on these yet. The promise of smooth shifts and a planted motor is mouth watering but at the expense of not being able to bear the vibes has me constantly going back and forth between the pros and cons. "Racecar or Race DailyDriver?"

I understand the concerns. Personal taste does have some impact. If I did them myself, then I would wonder about install error but I had three guys help that really knew what they were doing. For the record I do have the BSD but my crankshaft was balanced with the rebuild.

The ms6 owners are much more sensitive to vibration because of how smooth the car is to begin with. I think that is why the comments on NVH is so far apart.

I owned and raced my MS3 for three years before getting my MS6. It had all aftermarket engine mounts, and I can say, without a doubt, the 6 is louder with aftermarket engine mounts than my or any 3 I've ever been in. My 3 was bad. My 6 is worse, by a pretty significant amount.

I had a TRZ dogbone RMM and TMM on my MS3, and it wasn't as bad as @Funkster777's car with your RMM and PMM. Not even close.

What would be fantastic is if two members with completely contradicting stories lived close enough to compare results.

I would be interested to see if you though the cars who report much less dramatic results shared the same out come.

I'm installing My JBR 70 sidemounts this weekend. I have the cp-e rear mount already installed, the car dosent vibrate unless the AC turns on at iddle. Give a nice back massage when it shake.

Thats happens with just the cp-e rear for me. Assuming that means the 70s don't add much if any vibes

Does anyone know the size/thread/pitch of the bolts used to secure the JBR PMM to the frame rail? I installed the PMM last night and was tightening the rear frame bolt to the spec (70 ft lb) listed in JBR's instructions when I felt it go soft. So either the bolt is letting go or the threads in the frame rail are stripped.

I figure I'll have a spare bolt and a heli-coil/time-sert kit ready to go when I remove the bolt so I don't have any down time. And, no, I did not cross-thread the bolt. Is it just me or does 70 ft lb seem a bit excessive?

LOL. Checking the workshop manual would have been smart. I guess I just assumed Mr. Barone's instructions took those values into account. Time to buy a helicoil kit.

Yeah I broke that bolt and have yet to fix it haha. It did seem excessive. I pmed Jamie tp let him know and he said the spec was fine so I chalked it up to my shitty torque wrench haha

Stock spec for the stock mount is fine. We chose 12 ft/lbs over for this application and have installed many at this spec without issue.

I have an 88 AWR rmm and the 80 JBR pmm.

just took my first cruise since pmm install and I think the NVH increase wasn't bad all. definite increase but not uncomfortable and I love how it feels along with the added shift performance. Knowing the nvh is gonna die off later kind of has me depressed lol. I still have my balance shaft.

Can't wait to order the TMM and APv3 next month

I've got ~1,300 on my 80 duro Trilogy now, and love it. It's my daily driver and at 76K miles it feels better now than when I purchased it with 19K miles.

Yes there's a difference between being mounted or being isolated, but I like your version better, and I'm exceptionally pleased with 'em.

Yeah, I would be careful torquing the frame bolts to 70 lbs as the exact same thing happened to me, but it was my front bolt. Seems odd that those two bolts exceed the stock maximum torque spec by more than 20%, while the others are specified on the low end of the stock torque specs, 45 for the nut on the body and 60 for those on the studs on the motor. If I had looked at the manual I would have torqued them down to 50 lbs and not 70. I usually pick the middle of the broad torque specs in that book.

Got my 70 pmm installed today... torqued to 70/lb no problem. I think I will loosen them hower.

Is it just me or the engine is loud as fuck now ? vibration are very low, but the sound level is very high inside the cabin
