Default 50 trim

Is there anybody that has went with one of the journal bearing 50 trims? I think I may be purchasing one soon and seeing what I can get out of it. In the dsm community the 50 trim is a very popular turbo, just haven't seen any talk about it around here yet.

Yeah it don't fit on the speed 3's but if you go with a custom setup a 50 trim 63 a/r is a good size choice for our size motor and rev range.

Thank you Darksun...whats the best way of going custom 50 trim for the speed3? Would this be a good choice for 350 whp 17-19 psi stock internals? Any direction you could point me would be very appreciated

hmm it took me 18 psi to hit 345 on a 60-1 which is roughly 2 times bigger but if the CPE flashes do work (Which I'm not completely sold on yet) in theory yes a 50trim at that psi should get you 350whp on out motor with our compression.

Ken @ PG says I just need the turbo mani with external wg to run that tuner series t3/t4 turbo...........or go with a gt2871 turbo with 8 psi internal.....Maybe a 3071r with PTP turbo mani would be good combo for 350 whp...course Im still on edge on the BNR turbos...I never get any updated information about them..yes ive read the 330 whp!!!! mazda link thats super old..but no real world numbers on stage 2.

Im bumping this thread again-refering to the ATP tuner series t3/t4 turbo-thats spose to bolt directly on to mazdaspeed exhaust manifold and downpipe. Reading older posts from Ken @PG...He says it fits the ms6, but not the ms3..cause of fitment issues=ewg into the heatshield on the firewall. But like while back I pm'ed him "before" reading these posts and asked him if this would work..he said yeah..just need a manifold with ewg. But I guess he thought I didnt have a ms3? So assuming atp isnt full of shit *haha* and the turbo does fit stock exhaust and downpipe flange..can you somehow cap the v-band ewg connector on the turbo-Then run a manifold with ewg?

Seems like a good idea it is about 1k cheaper then the GT series and everyone is using ewg on them anyways
