Does these BNR turbos push thier advertised power at reasonable psi levels?? For example I hear that stage 3 is rated to 380 whp. I assume that is with supporting mods-TBE-Intake-Mani-Upgraded intercooler-upgraded fp...Thats a given in my eyes..but what psi..22-24?..or can you make an honest 350 whp around 18-19 psi?....and once again..any dyno's? stage 2 power??

How many guys are actrully running BNR setups?? I know that Blackwidow runs the stage 2 BNR on his speed6. He had turbo manifold-fmic-intake-exhaust mods, running 287 whp on a dynapack. Good numbers, but ive seen 275-285 whp on fully bolted stock turbo ms6's..so I dont know, He may be running a very conversative tune too, I just wish I could see more #'s from people who are running the BNR setups.

Mine shipped on Thurs so it should be here tommorow or Wed. Havnt decided on Tuning just yet (Have the AP but might switch to SB) but I should have some #'s in the next couple months for a 3 instead of a 6

Yeah he could be running a super conversative tune........ He dynoed in Montreal, Canada which is 187 ft above sea level..so no dis-advantages there...and Dynapacks are not known for being conservative.

I have 3 pro-tune maps from Tim Bailey on my AP

14 psi 274 whp
15 psi 285 whp
17 psi 291 whp

obviously you can see how effiecient the little ko4 turbo is,spools so fast and makes power fast, more psi doesnt nessasary mean loads more power. Ofcourse I drive a ms3 not a ms6, so my drivetrain losses are not near as bad.

Still...im hoping to go stage 3 BNR, If i spend 1300 bucks on basicly a 2871 "hybrid" and only get 10 more whp, that will be fucked up lol....Cant wait to see some more results with BNR setups

Just got my BNR, here's a pic:

I want to get it installed in the next couple weeks, then I need to decide if Im going to get Pro-Tuned w/ the AP or make the switch to the SB

I know that Ill need a tune to make decent #'s with the BNR. Im sure a stg2 map will work, but not to its full potential. I got the gt2871 maps from smoker6 but they are for the MS6. might try and make a map based off of these map just to see how the car performs, but that'll be just temporary

So ill have some hard #'s for u guys in the next couple months that are considering this as an alternative to other turbos

How different does the BNR stage 1 turbo look from the stock turbo? In other words, can I drop-it in and not worry about being hasstled by the dealership.

eh, not sure. It would probably pass a quick visual inspection, but any real work done I think it would be spotted pretty quick, Especially w/ the BNR logo lol

Any other differences other than the BNR logo? Maybe I can ask them not to engrave it for me.

If the mechanic is not an idiot, he will notice it.. The logo is the least of the differences..

I taalked to bryan yesterday, and the WG comes w/ a 17lbs spring. SO until I get tuned I probably just run off the WG spring and unplug the BCS. Eventually I want a 18-19psi tune but need to decide if the AP or the SB will be used......

Well I think with the BNR turbo..you would be fine running either AP or SB. I think RIGHT NOW..running the SB for big turbos like 3071 and higher is better..but for 350 whp and under applications the AP will suit you fine. But SB I heard is easier to use as well..if you go AP then prabaly be good idea to pro-tune it, get some really good gain if that BNR is half the turbo Bryan says it is...Goodluck to you...And I really hope to see your results soon as possilble

i keep searching but i can't find alot of truth in these threads. they're just a bunch of speculations and feelings... i just want to know some info on even the stage 1 bnr turbo... will it hold boost til redline or does it die off after 5.5k rpm? does the horsepower taper off towards the end or does it keep going up til redline? i would love to shift at 6.7-7k rpm and actually have a reason to cause shifting at 5.5k because it just blows hot air and no power made is gay. has any1 tuned with ap? just trying to learn more of stage 1 and 2 since they're already out to the public

Blackwidow has a stage 2 on his ms6...hes running around 287 whp with bolt ons+bnr stage 2....No one really know exactly what psi he is running some people have said around 15 psi, which if thats the case, means the bnr stage 2 has better psi-power ratio than the stock k04.

Theres couple people floating around with the stage 2 and forzda has the stage3, but the lazy fuckers havnt gotten around to installing them and giving us hungry folks some numbers lol.

In my personal opinion, I think what well see from a BNR set up is slightly more hp below 20 psi than the K04,while running cooler-more effeciently and better power up top. I think if your wanting full potential from what a BNR turbo is going to offer, then you gotta up the boost to 22-25 psi before you start thinking about 340-350 whp...Keep in mind it will spool almost like stock, couple hundred rpm higher at the most I suspect. so your gonna have shit load of power down low at that psi range, which prabaly means ouchie for the stock internals.

People thinking there gonna make 350 whp dd on just 18-19 psi with the Bnr turbos will prabaly be disapointed, But I could be wrong, so time will tell. I do think its good upgrade just for the sake of a better healthier turbo for the car with a "alittle" extra punch in the powerband.

Bryan has already sold stage 2 to few people and 1 stage 3 to another member on this forum, so were basicly waiting for them, Unless you wanna buy stage 1-2 now and post up the numbers, Stage 3 wheels are being produced as we speak, so until those are done, Bryan cant make any stage 3 setups.

Also I think his Forte is mostly Rx7's and Miata's, so thats prabaly his main priority now and hes in no huge rush to see that the ms3's will dyno with his turbos, but thats just an asumption.

A little of topic , im going to install the bnr stage 1 on a 07 spd3. Can anyone give me advice on the install. Does the exhaust manifold have to come off or can i snake the turbo out of the engine bay with it still there?

my turbo is smoking, i was thinking the ease of the stage 1 would be good for me, but no sense in not paying the extra 300 or so for a stage 3, what are your mods? i realize or assume the hypertech would be no good and i'd have to get a AP, can you list your mods and any impressions? thanks

Mods list: CP-E CAI, PG TIP, ETS 3.25" TMIC, BNR stage 3, CP-E down pipe, 3" exhaust.

Currently i'm only running on the stock mazda tune at 16psi but its much better then with the K04. It isn't as quick to spool which means I can drive around town without boosting the entire time but if you give it a boot full it still comes alive very fast. Still waiting to get it tuned..

have a look at the link below for dyno results on stock tune. (post #55)

Yes, the MS6 has considerably more room. You guys can fit top mount manifolds *and* ATP sells the v-band conversion downpipe for stock turbo. Not enough room to do either of those on the MS3.
