(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score as the title states, I'm looking for a front mount intercooler kit that would match up well with my GTX 3076 R, and that I'd be able to fabricate a blow through maf set up without having to cut or modify the car. I like the jbr, but worry there wont be room for the blow through maf on the cold pipe. I also like the cs fmic, but worry the ic piping size wong flow well enough, althouth the cold pipe routing is perfect for blow through as its perfectly straight for a couple feet. Dont know if it would be okay to have the maf that far back from the tb, as id mount itt where the pipe runs back behind the front mount before it bends up and into the tb. Thanks for the advice / input. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Most any FMIC kit is going to mate to your GTX just fine as is. Whats your point for wanting a blow thru MAF? What are you trying to achieve? I second not doing blow thru. Sounds like you should do some more reading...

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I think you guys have given me good direction here. From what I had been reading it gave more acurate and precise readings, and (as ashamed as I am to admit it) would allow me to run a TiAL vta with the gtx. Anyone have objections to a tial qr on a bt build? Ive run them before and had great results. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Can't you run the Tial VTA even without blowthru? Not that I would recommend running VTA anyway.

| Not Ranked : 0 score There's nothing wrong with the stock draw-thru method, easy to scale based on intake size and to tune for. CP-E makes a bolt-on recirc. kit for the Tial if thats your valve of choice. If you're dead-set on going VTA, why not use a Guardian Angel in VTA mode with added protection from overboosting. I use a GA myself in VTA. Mazda MZR 2.3 DISI Tial QR Exhale? BOV Kit | cp-e? | Not Ranked : 0 score I have a cobb fmic and was running a blow thru setup for a few months using custom piping for the cold pipe. I originally was having part throttle problems with the cobb cold pipe and my custom blow thru fixed that but my WOT afr's weren't consistent enough so I have switched back. I'm planning on trying it again later using a different setup. Here is how my cold pipe was setup

| Not Ranked : 0 score To run a blow-thru setup would require a MAF sensor that is capable of being used as a blow-thru. This too since the new MAF doesn't have one. You'll have to run the Temp Sensor and MAF seperatly.HPX mass airflow sensor (Ford and universal) | PMAS MAF That. Underdog Racing Development Plus that. Caspers Electronics 109019, Caspers Electronics Mass Air/Air Temp. Adapters | Caspers Electronics And that for the harness. Then all that's missing is a properly sized housing WITH air straightener. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y41...psemmya5va.jpg Something like that. I have one for sale BUT I can't and WON'T sell it to you @cam1391; because of our F/S rules and your lack of access to the F/S Section. I'm only posting it as an example, so @Raider; don't ban me. Unless I can't post the picture? Then edit please. So you add that all together, build yourself a cold-pipe to accommodate the blow-thru MAF housing and MAF cal that bitch up. It's really not that difficult and you can get some really good results using the HPX PMAS sensors which are more accurate then the stock MAF sensor. So @cam1391; donate!

| Not Ranked : 0 score You can run a stock maf sensor blow through or the slot style mentioned above. As said above, orientation of the sensor relative to the pipe bends and airflow is important more than anything. The HPX sensor is actually not as accurate as the stock sensor. I have run both. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score that's pretty much given up on going to blow through, I was originally going to use the corksport front mount intercooler, which would have had the perfect piping since the coldpipe is perfectly straight for ~3ft, so there'd be almost 0 turbulance, utilizing a 3" maf housing w/ air straightener, and running a 3" pipe the rest of the wayto the tb so there'd be no turbulance from stepping the pipe id back down, and it'd be a few feet from the tb, so again, almost no turbulance. But ive decided to go with treadstone's tr8 fmic with HTP's under the engine hot pipe, and the cold pipe would be too short to get accurate reading on blow through with all the turbulence from bents, short pipe length, and being inches from the throttle body (which is why most people have wacky readings when they try this). I learned all the tricks when I did a blow through gm maf on my 2g eclipse gs-x. Worked great as long as there was plenty of straight piping before and after the maf, and was a couple feet from the throttle body. I ended up going speed density tho when the gm maf crapped out since by then people figured out how well this worked and the price for the maf was more then the sd conversion. Ill probably end up doing sd on my ms3 as well instead of blow through since I tune myself if I dont like the pull through results with a guardian angel like was suggested. If anyone that lives near jax, fl. has a cs fmic and would like to try blow through with it, ill supply the piping and couplers to do it (got tons of spare.piping from all the turbo cars ive had), you'll just have to buy a maf housing like htp's. Pm me if youre interested. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score What exactly are you hoping to accomplish by implementing a speed density setup? A MAF setup is far more versatile in terms of tuning and changes to VE. Guys have made 700+ hp on draw thru MAF setups. Why reinvent the wheel? |
