![]() Also GREAT news. Looks like everything has been resolved by installing the BSD and clearing the code. Drove 30 miles tonight and it ran perfect the whole time. Stay tuned for some vdynos probably next week.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Alright guys I need help. Long story short, I finally started getting on it with boost set at 14psi and I get insane amounts of (EDIT: WOT) KR at ~2.0 load and 5-5500rpm + Details: Car runs fantastic until that point. No funny noises, no jerkyness, trims are dead on, afr is dead on, BAT's are <100*. Honestly everything runs so perfect it's not even funny. Even seems like (sure it's just in my head) that the car has higher compression than the old motor because it's soooo responsive off boost and spools this turbo pretty damn fast. Also NO CELS. None What I've tried to remedy this so far... new ghes inj seals (again) spark plugs octane booster moved an ic pipe that was hitting the oil pan Anyway I'm out of ideas right now, so anything you guys can throw out there would be helpful. Only thing I have left is it's possibly building a bunch of CC pressure, but I'm not blowing oil out anywhere, dipstick's staying in, and my catch can seems to be picking up a normal amount of oil. also, when I took the IM off to do the seals again, there was barely a drop of oil in that. oh and btw I updated my APmanager and now it won't connect my PC to AP, so I can't lower timing, but even if it's real knock and timing needs to be lowered, that still means there's something wrong because I'm only running 15* at RL with 2gal corn and now octane booster at only 14psi. looking forward to some ideas so I can actually get this thing going fast because this sucks! @djuosnteisn @SilverDemon (I thought I remember you having experience with this?) @Lex @Dano @ ANYONE ELSE WHO CAN HELP! lol Last edited by Realgib3; 07-10-2012 at 05:41 PM. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score can't post a log because AP won't connect to PC after the last update. Trying to get that fixed now. The plugs I just pulled out looked fine and gap was right @.26 where I left them. Put new plugs in anyway just to see and still getting the exact same results. Thanks for the input though guys, I'm sure if enough people throw random shit out there, we'll get it figured out. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Just throwing ideas out there, i am by no means as good at this as several other people. But could it be false kr. do you maybe have something in the engine compartment moving around enough to cause this. I wouldnt think it is because it seems to be pretty consistant but just trying to help the brain storming process

Too bad you don't have the AP or you could go drop a few degrees and see what happens. Can you add more Ethanol for a test. With for example, 2 more gals you are still knocking, I would be pretty confident it is not real. Only thing against the false KR theory I see is that you say it is only in the higher gears.... Anyway, I am sure you are aware, but once you decide if real or not you can then go adjust the KR offset table some at higher RPMs to make it less sensitive. Good luck with everything. Hope you get it figured out. I have been watching this one for a while.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I've only seen one bad knock sensor before... and it did show unusually high KR, even when there was plenty of octane. The best tests to determine if the KR is real is to simply add more octane. Even if it's a tank of race gas (as pricey as it is), if your still getting KR at that point, start looking into mechanical causes... rattling pipes, loose / faulty knock sensor, etc etc.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Yeah Im leaning toward somethin not octane related since Ive added another gallon of e (3 total) and 2 bottles of octane booster and still see the same counts of 10*+ kr. Plus the plugs have lookedto fibe the eholeangle time. Will check more stuff tonight when I get off work. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Octane booster does dubious things, at best. Maybe .1-.2 point of octane. I don't like the additives many of them use. Close plug gap to .025? IC pipe hitting VC? mm vibrations maybe?

Easy way to found out if the chain is stretch is look at the bottom of your valve cover and you will see marks like in this picture

| Not Ranked : 0 score @Realgib3 i had the same issue with atr and ap manager. try uninstalling the ap manager and reinstalling it. i spoke with Cobb and it was something to do with the driver software not installing properly. it worked for me. i had this issue after d/l atr to my desktop after having it on my laptop. also , if you can, manually install the driver software. it helped. took the guessing game out. good luck with your car. cant wait for numbers! |

| Not Ranked : 0 score 10° of KR at full throttle at that RPM, and it living, tells me it's likely noise. You would at least see spackling on the plugs, if not break the porcelain. Timing chain is a good one. Pulley bearings are another thing to check. Any time I get to see a car in person that has this kind of issue, I just start shaking shit in the engine bay. Not like poke-poke, it doesn't move; grab shit and try to force it back and forth. Intercooler piping banging on the intake mani, exhaust or exhaust hangers rattling. SSOOOOO much stuff can make noise.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Update... FIIIXXXEEEDD!!! Alright so I stopped being an idiot and REALLY went through the damn engine bay and as @phate said I shook the shit out of everything I could find. and not shit moved lol But then I noticed a ground wire that looked loose sitting right near the hard coolant line that runs over top of the trans... also looked to see that some of my ECU wires were un-taped right next to the power wire to the starter... Tightened up that ground and re-taped alllll the ECU wires and power wires and voila, car fucking rips. If 16psi feels this good, I can't wait to feel mid 20's! Thanks everyone for all the brainstorming. I'll post logs as soon as I can get this damn AP fixed. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score My issue was related to a faulty 2nd O2 sensor. The ecu will dump fuel like mad to try and put heat in the sensor. Mine was a rich knock, and I never saw +10° of knock with this issue. Could the missing bsd plug caused some issues with oiling? edit: haha never mind good catch
