Default BNR S3 TURBO.

Not quite a big turbo obviously but a bigger turbo then the stock snail. Scope out the pic. Also in the pic evo x rims and a cnt catless downpipe.... i still need a ebc and im planning on only running 20psi and keeping the cobb intake/inet and stock maf and map for now and still running e85

Cool beans man. I should be getting mine on Thurs. Reverse taper to 25-26 psi and shooting for 400awhp/400awtq. Not too many better turbos for the street

i want to make powa! But not at the expense of my motor. People are blowing up with the BNRs at around 380whp at 26psi. I'll be content with just running 21 psi max.

Im sure its not the HP as much as it is the tq. Unless you have seen this on here I dont know that I can believe that. @atvfreek; was running over 400hp on his BNR and still is on his new turbo

It's my understanding that we aim to stay bellow 400wtq unless fully built.

freek is running meth with his setup i believe. Why is hard to believe people blow up with the beaner? People blow up with the stock turbo....peak tq down low is prob the main reason for this as mentioned.... but yes people on MSF have even posted about there ZZB with the bnr.

Has a lot to do with the tune. You can target more than 20psi up top with the turbo and still be fine for street applications especially if using the higher octane E85. A sweet spot for the top end is around 23-24psi.

You could run a Stratified Boost Dial with your stock EBCS instead of going with a 3 port.

I'm excited and nervous at the same time...the car is fast enough now and reliable. But everyone knows hows the mod bug works.

You are mistaken good sir.

I had no ZZB and I was on stock turbo when #4 cylinder lost compression.

It is adviseable to keep the last 5 oil filter and oil receipts. It makes warranty claims go through easier.

Can't wait to see come race vids once you get this puppy on.

21psi with some healthy timing will still get you in the 360whp range. Not too sure whose been blowing up, as I haven't been on here a lot lately, but I've been 360whp+ with this turbo for over a year now with no problems and it's my dd.

With the stock MAP sensor you will be limited to 21-21.5psi. The COBB intake will be fine up to around 23psi.

I have 76k on it now and had 56k when I put on the bnr. Yea, you'll be fine that won't be an issue at all. That was exactly my setup when I was on 21psi, of course until upgraded later on. You will still make great power especially with a great tune to go along with it. Are you getting it tuned at church again?

23-24 is definitelty the sweet spot for peak power, as lex mentioned. Going higher will give gains, but they start to get minimal. I use load as a limiter and have it dyno verified for my car quite well. For the most part my car only hits 19-20 up until about 4500, then it ramps up pretty quick toward redline.

21-22 psi will get you 350-360hp no problem on e85, so that is a nice goal in the BNR.

Is the Full 3 inch Intake worth getting? Obviously it will breathe better but i trust your opinion since you have both setups. In terms of the tune i do trust Church with my car and have had great results...I really dont want to open up that can of worms with E tuners Vs Church. I am open to both but do like that church is just 10 min away.

It's definitely worth getting. Of the top of my head pwned gained 7 or 8whp with the Sure 3 inch on the stock turbo at 300whp and those gains will obviously be magnified with a bigger turbo. So the gains will certainly be there.

Here's a vd from my cobb setup vs the jbr whale dong

The other nice thing about the bigger intake is that you can run less boost to get the same amount of flow

It seems you're on the fence so I suggest doing this right the first time. Get a 3" intake, a 3 Bar MAP sensor, and a way to control boost (either Boost Dial or 3 Port). With a good and conservative tune you should be in the 360-380whp range with about the same amount of torque and have fun with the car.

I've seen pretty much every setup combination in terms of turbos, intakes, etc. and this is a winning combination.
BackRoads likes this.

is it ok to drive the car with out the EBC hooked up while the BNR is in? I wont be boosting of course. Reason is i might put it in a diff day if the turbo takes to long.

Make sure you have a tube/line from the intake manifold directly the wastegate actuator to run spring pressure.

If i literally build no boost until the ebc is in it shouldn't be a problem right?

Ugh don't leave the wastegate unplugged. It's just asking for fail and it takes 2 minutes to do.

Why would you even consider it? If you are smart and hook up the vacuum lines before the turbo goes in then it is a matter of cutting lines to size and connecting the lines and then plug the adapter into the oem port. 5 minutes tops. Just make sure the lines get hooked up right.

Or you could go the smart route and get the Stratified boost dial instead of a 3 port boost controller and all you have to do is hook up 2 vacuum lines ...

Who is installing it?

Sent via blown passenger side speakers.
