Ah so what we learned today is that car starters and computer equipment are troubleshooted in the same manner...hit it until it works or you've destroyed it so you know for sure you need a new one

Hey just wanted to update your guys on the turbo install.

Biggest difficulties with install. The most difficult part with the install was pulling the turbo out of the small hole as well as putting the corksport turbo into the small hole. Other then that I did not run into any really difficult issues to overcome, other then the issues with the car starting haha. Also if anyone installs the new 3.5 Bar map sensor by corksport u have to use a lot of force to plug it in it has to click, that gave me a lot of issues.

The turbo sounds great it has a deeper intake sound and sounds awsome! I can't get enough of the sound haha. I am currently running 17 pounds of boost as purple drank works on my tune once I send over more logs. The car moves though with 17 pounds of boost! Currently I was informed that I have a vaccumm leak from my tuner so I have to fix that before I move on. Thanks again for all the help guys.

So I got my final tune the other day from purple drank tuning. He kept it some what conservative since my car is a daily at 21 psi. I have yet to get it on a dyno to see how much horsepower I'm getting. I have to say though it is a great tune and the corksport turbo sounds incredible. It has a deep loud turbo sound to it and the car moves! It is a great improvement from the stock k04 I love driving my car again and it is quick! I was also told if a get a bigger intake right now I only have a 2.5 inch I can gain another 20 to 30 horsepower so I will get to that eventually. But for anyone thinking about getting a new turbo I would highly recommend getting corksport's turbo. It wasn't even that difficult to install myself.

Did mine too, No issues. l Tuned it myself no issues. Nice turbo. Its smooth through all the way to 7000 RPM. Keep an eye on your knock retard gauge (accessport) for safety. It needs to read bellow 1 at boosted RPMs. Sometimes dyno's tunes will differ from when you start driving hard on the road.

Download Virtual Dyno. Take a 4th gear WOT log on a flat, straight road, and upload the log to virtual dyno. Should be a good representation of what kind of power you are making.

That log is from the CS turbo?
Not bashing, but it looks severely lacking in power.
You say you tune yourself, what are you using to tune?

You tuned it yourself, but you don't even know how to take a proper log?

Did a couple of short runs. I cannot find somewhere close where its open to really rev it out, and can only go to 3rd gear. According to Vdyno, Im getting 250 whp before it reaches 5000 rpm 18PSI of boost and "0" knock retard. I'm very happy with that. I could tune it more aggressive like some but I do care for my engine. Besides, I don't have the running gear to support hi power out put (stock running gear). I use to own a Ford XR6 turbo with bolts ons tuned to 580 rear wheel KW with 820 nm. Use to smoke my tyres in 5th gear doing 73 mph, but when con rod 6 came out of the block, it was all over and embarrassing. Did I mention I'm running stock exhaust and intake. Car is very quiet.

Data log done in 3rd gear an vr dyno done in 4th gear. This is with my corksport turbo along with cobb ss downpipe, k&n typhoon intake 2.5 inch, cobb turbo inlet,3.5 BAR map sensor, Corksport electronic boost control solenoid and autotech fuel pump internals. Also have rear motor mount and passenger motor mount. The tune was done by purple drank tuning i asked for a conservative tune to keep the car safe and it is my daily driver. I love the tune and they said i could get another 30 to 40 horsepower if i get a larger intake cause the intake i currently have is restricting. Sorry to take so long to post results.

Are you stupid or just a troll? I'm hoping for troll, but sadly, I don't think that's the case.

2.5" intake, why such a shitty intake?
3.5bar MAP, why 3.5 when 3bar would have been cheaper and there is no need for a 3.5 on a CS Turbo?

Definitely a lot left on the table in that tune though. You can easily make some power there once you get a bigger intake.

I don't know what you mean by not having the running gear to support high output. MS3's can easily handle 375 whp/wtq out of the box. Your tune is extremely conservative - you are barely making more power than a bone stock car. Additionally between your two runs, your boost response is extremely inconsistent and this could indicate some kind of hardware problem. Your tune is pretty poor by almost any measure - use the information on the forums here to optimize it more, then look into replacing some of the stock intake/exhaust hardware. Otherwise your CS turbo will have been a complete waste of money/time.

Agreed, a couple bolt on's and a tune would get you 250 whp, that turbo seems a bit overkill.

Million thanks for the advise. I've taken it well. got help from with CS and Cobb. Installed a new intake, a better cat and down pipe, also a new CS map sensor. Car is running heaps good. Boost is very consistent at 18 PSI.....
Thanks again.

Hey when you bolted the new turbo on did you tighten the 4 top bolts to spec (45-50 ft lbs) or did you tighten the 5 on the outlet side first?

The corskport directions just say tighten the 4 top bolts but neglect to mention the other 5. Is there any sequence in the torquing process?

Maybe it doesn't matter....top versus side studs.

Thanks Mr. BTW that 45-50 ft lbs indicated by corksport is higher than OEM. OEM is 32-47 ft lbs.
