I started with a mini-bike- just a little honda 50 that cost ~$100. Just as simple as a mower, dirt cheap parts and a helluva lot more fun once it's put back together

Plus, once you're done with it (might be a while, them bastids are serious fun) you can sell it for $200 to a neighborhood kid

yes it is a good start and it works better if you have fun doing it too. I don,t remember when i started but i was a kid and i still want to open everything new to see how it works...
Usually it still works after i close it back but i F&%%? some too lol. It may be why my GF is afraid when i ask to do tests on her stuff lol

Great info, high compression turbo engines worked well in Japan. When its time for my rebuild, this is the same path I would take and glad to see someone performing the work and sharing the experience so we can all learn from it. Good on you @Enki....
