Dougefresh's Top Mount Twin Scroll 3076 Build

I was about to do a single scroll regular unleaded mount, when Joel swayed me otherwise. I'm basically copying his set up to a "T": TS 3076 T3 Divided w/ .78 A/R. I ordered my SteedSpeed Top Mount TS Mani w/ single ewg, and it should be shipping soon. I think DJ is spending my DP/SRI/TIP money on hookers, booze, & coke, lol. I hope so at least.

I still need to buy a 38mm Tial ewg, and some misc stuff from ATP. I'm in no rush, and the install isn't happening until the end of May at the earliest. I'm still in part collecting mode here. I ordered my injector seals & Skates and I will be putting those in in two weeks. I also ordered the BSD to do when I get back, as I haven't done that yet (33K miles).

I'm going to have to just run the CPE fmic for a few months w/ this until I have the time/money/space to do a proper custom fmic. I'm also considering just running a 1.3 or 1.4 bar spring and running spring pressure & 100% water w/ a D05 nozzle AT FIRST. That's just to get me up and running. After the huge fmic, I'll run the Perrin Ebcs, and get a proper tune w/ meth most likely a la DJ. I realize I'll be missing out on most (all?) the quicker spool of the TS by running spring, but it beats running the K04 for another 3 or 4 months. Time to get this show on the road!

I didn't realize the outlets were only 2".... I thought they were bigger for some reason (reason = n00b). I thought I received the wrong shit, lol. Thanks man! DJ told me to just go ahead and set it up w/ the lower spring rate for the ewg + ebcs, and that the tweaks to boost later won't be a big deal. Right now I run my Perrin in interrupt mode, and I run the FS controller & BCS FS for meth. Here's a pic of the craziness... FS BCS is on the firewall, Perrin is in stock location, not pictured:



However, I have NO CLUE how to rig that shit up with the ewg. The unrestricted boost source (tapped hot pipe) is T'd off and runs to the BCS FS. It's still unrestricted to the Perrin though, because my particular BCS FS is N.C. (normally closed), unless there is a flow issue, then it opens and floods the wg to spring pressure (and then it doesn't matter that it's unrestricted). It's not a huge deal, and DJ said he's gonna sub soon & chime in. He's already helped me out a ton w/ some PMs.

Noob question, since you've been back there and seen how much space there is with the steedspeed mani, is there enoug room for a twin scroll hta3582r? Or is it a sqeeze for the gt3076? Also how much did you have to customize your cpe fmic to fit the new setup?

I haven't been back there with the mani yet. I'm still waiting on delivery of the SteedSpeed . I'm not familiar w/ the size of the 3582, but you can check out Joel's (jmhinkle's) turbo and see what you think. I'd ask Joel or DJ as they would know. (Joel I hope you don't mind I stole some of your pics):

As for the CPE fmic, I've just looked under my hood, and at Joel's pics above, and it looks like (by eyeball) the outlet of the TS76 is 6" (give or take a few) to the right of where the stock K04 currently sits. So, the hot pipe either needs to be modified quite a bit, or (more likely) I'm thinking it'll be easier to just have a custom hot pipe made to replace the CPE one, and go w/ the rest of the kit. That way when I do a proper custom, I can sell the cpe fmic "in tact" as opposed to chopping it, having a piece welding on, later removing it to have the original piece welded back, etc...

lol, you can beat me to it man. The install isn't happening until the end of May at best (after my first exam), and I have no clue how I'm gonna get it installed (no garage, etc). Before I decided to go top mount, I talked to a shop and they gave me a quote of $872 for 'regular' 3076 + DP (Still rocking stocker DP... had a CPE, but decided to go top mount before it was installed, and sold it to buy SP mani). If I can't get some local help for the install, I'm hoping I can shave a few bucks of the $872 for the top mount install. Still a great price imo. Gotta make some phone calls, etc.

Minor Update: Some parts arrived today.

CPE Seals & egr block off plate. Good to do at the same time as the mani is already off.



I'm still waiting on inj studs/nuts, BSD kit, & the steedspeed mani. Will update w/ pics when they arrive as well as the DJ DP/SRI/TIP. But like I mentioned in OP, insall won't be until end of May at best.

I still need to buy a Tail 38mm ewg, and some misc stuff from ATP, but I haz no money and no job . Donations are more than welcome

Studs & nuts arrived for the seals along with the BSD kit. Got word from Leen that the mani shipped, but I tracked it, and it looks like it's jammed up at the border :/ . Anyone know who delivers stuff from steedspeed in the states? It's coming from candapost.ca. I've never seen a 'candapost' truck in my life, so I'm assuming it's taken over by another carrier state side.. but IDK. I just don't like missing goodies. Will post pics when mani shows up.

What's your guys' opinion on side mounts w/ this set up? All I have is the CPE rear diff mount & the SU RMM (sig is current). I'm not getting the TT front diff mount, but was wondering if side MMs were in order? They'll probably go in later, but figured I'd ask.

Cool. I just went w/ the ebay BSD for $25. I got in touch w/ someone about the F2's but the price seemed way too high (they're not around anymore but the guy knows the dude who made them and there's a few kits laying around his house). I haven't heard back... I'll send him another pm. I think the only other options are PTP and Protege Garage? If that's the case I'd get the PG one, lol.

lol, and I thought you were just randomly vicing my nuts. No, I'm totally psyched about this Lenny, but I have no means to install it as of yet, which is a huge bummer. I got a good quote for an install, but I can't even swing that (unemployed). I have some friends that want to help but everyone is like 1,000+ miles from me, lol. That and I have the first cpa exam May 26th, and the BT stuff is eating into my study time. The cpa exam makes learning ATR look like long division. So, I just got a lot on my mind, and no nicotine for over 24hrs now = I do need prozac! I would prefer chronic, but I need my ST memory for these exams.

Bah, I missed the SteedSpeed mani delivery today on my way to drop off the car at the dealer & pick up a loaner car. It's a new camry... no clue what edition... I may put the ts76 on there instead and see what happens.

So, if you are buying a SteedSpeed Mani FWIW, it DOES change over from "Canada-post" to the USPS. I figured it switched at the border, but I didn't know who took over. You can track it via the Canada-post, and then the USPS site w/ the same tracking #. But don't expect updates this side of the border... as of last night it said "Inbound Out of Customs" and then I had a missed call on my cell on my way to the dealer from "Front Door," lol. So it was Mr. Postman trying to give me my mani... I'm picking her up tomorrow, and I'll take some pics.

Picked up the Steep Speed Top Mount Twin Scroll Today... She's a beaut!!! Weighs just under 19lbs in the box w/ peanuts, so prolly closer to 18lbs, IDK. It's nice & solid though that's for damn sure.

Thanks man, but it's gonna be awhile . I still have the inj seals to do + BSD first. Keeping fingers crossed that I don't get blow out! lol. The numbers won't be anything crazy... if anything quite mild. I only plan on running 20-21 PSI until I get a good job and can afford a build.

Dang, thanks man! People usually complain that I'm long winded, but not everyone has the same base level of knowledge, so I try to cover everything I think someone could get hung up on, and I assume they know little to nothing (like me, lol). I'm glad the writes up have helped. No promises on a write up though... unsure of how/when this will happen.

I'm waiting for jmhinkle's write up & how to myself as I'm copying his set up. If I have a shop do it, or I do it with some local help, I'll do my best to be detailed.

Got the CPE injector seals in and replaced the torx bolts w/ studs & nuts thanks to superskate's help. We also deleted the egr, and flushed out my w/m system. Went to a huge meet in MD, met a bunch of the guys, and had a great time. 1,100 miles (side trips), working on the car, and finally back home. Tired as a mofo! The only prep I have left before the BT is BSD. I have the bolt, but I need to pick up a baffled oil pan. I'm tired as hell....

If you wanna ghetto rig the baffle, you can probably get some avation snips and some sheet aluminum and make your own. After seeing PTPs baffle, I dont think it would take long to rivet something together.

I'm not that handy w/ metal and I have very limited tools . I could make a nice one out of wood, but I may get splinters in the engine, haha. Skates is saying to skip it as I don't track it, but I'd rather get one for piece of mind. I'm actually more concerned about the bsd + a good baffle than I am about the BT install. I'd rather skip the pan if it's unnecessary, but I don't want to take any chances... after all that's invested, $80 won't kill me.

I was told to avoid that one & PTPs... not sure if anyone has had problems though? I vowed not to put anything from PTP on my car after my fuel pump fiasco last year. Joe linked me up to one I just gotta double check something.
