(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Hey guys i havent posted on here in awhile. I bought my car back in 2011 and have learned a lot about it. My goal now is to finally get myself out of the K04 and into the S4. I really want to learn to self tune, but am content with asking DR FREEK for my initial tune. I have been doing research and want to sit around 350-380 WHP and 400-440 WTQ. This will be my daily for the warm months, but i still want it to be aggressive (definitely going with a EWG). I am pretty content on what i will be undertaking, but want some help on where to get started. My motor is strong. 190 +/- 5 across all 4 cylinders 102k miles. Stock VVT. Here is my list i put together to get started so far. Lets start by going over the list and lemme hear any suggestions you guys may have. -EGR Block off kit -$25 (Needed) -PCV plate (maybe) -$180??? -CPE safe seal injector seals - $194 -JBR OCC -$165 -Cobb V3 (maybe) -$350 (currently have a V2) -Bitwise 3 bar maf sensor connector -$65 -Bosch 3 bar maf -$35 -HTP 3” Intake/TIP/Maf housing kit -$331 -CX racing FMIC - $300 -Grimmspeed 3 port ECBS -$110 -Tial 38mm EWG -$275 (is a 38mm enough? and will i need a EWG housing?) -BNR S4 -$1250 -Devils own Methanol Injection -$385 (want to get the turbo in and deal with this possibly after) $3665 I may also be over thinking this as well, so if yall think that i need less to start off let me know

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Ok see that's where I want to shy away from. I want a bolt on kit. Could I still go with the s4 but just not as aggressive? Or should I max out an s3? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You can go with as big a turbo as you want. As mentioned, staying below 400 (or whatever Justin deems safe) is what you will have to do. So if you never plan to go bigger, a smaller turbo will tend to give better spool but can be maxed out within your goal.

| Not Ranked : 0 score You can hit 380whp with an S3. Easy peasy. It'll be interesting to see what Bryan comes up with for his S4, but I'm fairly sure he mentioned it was targeted for people with built blocks. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Ok yeah that may be all I need then. That should be a little nicer on my budget. Out of my list of parts do any of you guys see anything that I probably won't need? I really wanna do an ewg setup, but I'll need the housing for it correct? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As far as things you may not need on your list. PCV plates are nice, but you would probably be fine without. Toyota injector seals are back and fourth, some have no issues, others seems to, but at $7 each they are way cheaper . I had good luck on the stock motor, but when I built I went CPE. You dont have to update your AP, the V3 is great and I love mine, but if you are trying to save, a V2 will do what you need.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I am just finishing up my bnr s3 e25 tune with justin. I'm at about 380 whp on vdyno using a 1.01 CF. Car rips and feels great. I have stock exhaust mani so I dont view that as a necessity, up to you though. As for the injector seals, I wouldn't mess with them unless they are giving you obvious problems like misfiring. You also don't NEED a catch can, I ran one for a long time but its a real pain to keep up with especially when its really freaking cold out. I did EGR delete during my turbo swap, that's worth doing. I have a meth kit as well but I have it disabled currently because of an issue with my devil's own nozzle. I am considering hooking it back up and seeing if I can break 400 whp. I would go with a better quality front mount if you are getting an upgraded turbo. I had cx before, not the best quality core. Might as well go with a 3.5" intake and just move the ECU over to the fuse box or attach it to the front of the battery box like I did. Hope that helps some.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Awesome info guys I am so excited to start this build! Now as far as going with an ewg is it really worth it for my goals? I know it sounds awesome, but want to know if it will have an obvious advantage over an internal wastegate? I know I watched a video of a guy with the cork sport turbo with an ewg, would that be the same expense? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

| Not Ranked : 0 score Damn you guys are helpful! I love it @GH07MS3; Since you're going with a BNR you're not gonna get a better deal than the RPM bundle. It comes with everything you need to slap that beaner on. BNR S3 Upgrade Bundle @ therpmstore.com I'm running 100% meth for cooling only and hitting 380awhp pretty consistently. You will make more as you have less drivetrain loss b/c FWD. Without meth I was @ 330awhp. You needs the meths for the BNR to really perform. E85 works too but I love the cold boost air temps and shiny-clean intake valves. Keep us updates with your progress!

| Not Ranked : 0 score We're starting to take pre-orders for the S4 now and have a bundle for it, too, but as stated above, the S3 will be better suited for a stock motor, unless you have plans to rebuild soon. http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/foru...-order-192766/ |
