Default Going Bnr Stage 3

Finally doing a turbo upgrade on my 08 speed 3. Car has 75K miles, it has been stage 2 since it had 6k on it. Driven hard daily and has never had any issues. I'm hoping it holds up for a little while longer with a little more power. Turbo came today from BNR and I will be doing the install tomorrow. Wish me luck. I'm hoping to be able to leave the manifold in. I see some guys take it out, some don't. My egr is fully deleted so maybe that will help some. Any advice or tips would be appreciated. Will post pics of the install.

To do a bnr you dont have to remove the mani. Just pull it out towards where the battery would be. You will however need to remove the coolant hose just under the egr location.

It also helps if you do the 4 bolts between the mani and turbo last and just have someone under the car hold it up as you start to slide it out

And lastly DONATE BROWNIE.

You won't be disappointed. The coolant line will be the only hang up. I'd also make sure alm the bolts on the turbo are super snug before the install. I had one of mine come loose. Besides that enjoy.

Everything should hold fine, as long as you're not on original motor mounts..and depending on how hard you've raped the clutch.

Elaborate what you mean by stage 2 setup.. Do you have a hpfp,FMIC,dp, different mani?

Nice! I have the JBR 88 trilogy and they made a huge difference. I wouldn't want to put a bigger turbo on the stock mounts.

Install went well today. Took me about 8hrs with lunch and a parts run. The only issue I had was a leaking coolant line. I ended up just bending the stock line instead of using the supplied banjo bolt.

subbed. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. My car has been fully bolted stage 2 since about 5,000 miles and I just rolled over 80,000 miles and i'm finally thinking of swapping the stock turbo out. My stock turbo still purrs and runs fine and no smoke and I have an '07, guess i'm a lucky one. I just want something basic to install without a ton of more supporting mods. I bought a Jeep so I have to keep funds free'd up for my new habit.

Please post your results. How are you liking the BNR upgrade vs the stock turbo so far?

Will do bro. I love the turbo so far. But I am trying to tune it myself and I'm taking my time with it. I am currently trying to hold 22psi to redline. Full boost is around 3800rpm which I'm sure can be a little better.

You should be able to be at full boost at 3k with that guy. Maybe 3200.

Yes, but you need to run a restrictor pill in the boost line that feeds the WGA and EBCS. I could mail you my leftover welding tips if you want to try it out. Or make life simple and buy Grimmspeed.

Yes, but you need to run a restrictor pill in the boost line that feeds the WGA and EBCS. I could mail you my leftover welding tips if you want to try it out. Or make life simple and buy Grimmspeed.

We tried this setup and my stock boost solenoid took a shit for whatever reason once the BNR was on. So in went the Grimmspeed. Hunt the forums you can find one used.
