(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Hey guys, I'm looking into BT builds. This is my first any kind of turbo car so I'm slowly learning these things work. Over the last couple months I've owned it I've done quite a bit but I find myself still wanted more. I don't wanna go REAL BT such as GT30 etc as I need to DD the car and would also like to keep my stock manifold, top mount IC, and would like to keep it IWG. From what I've read from Lex's post on boost creep I would need an EWG if I went with a more efficient turbo. 2007 MS3 with 60K miles. Currently in terms of power mods I've got: CP-e catted DP COBB SRI+TIH PTP HPFP internals COBB AP Stg2+ 94 octane Freektuned JBR OCC Denso IVT 22 My goals are as follows: I would like to spend ~2K shipped on all parts needed for any turbo I go with. I would like to comfortably reach 350+ WHP and prefer a bolt on turbo which I will not have to be neurotic about. I know BT require close monitoring and like I said I prefer something which will be more or less a small upgrade to the K04. I would love to be able to keep the stock TMIC but this may not be an option, I've heard you can with the smaller turbos. Meth: This is an option. I was going to do this first, then TMIC, then BT. Should I go this route? Or would going BT before those be ok? I will be upgrading the TMIC (maybe FMIC) and meth regardless at some point but I'm craving more power now and it's possible I'm just being impatient. If this is the case I'm ok to hold out. Injector Seals: I should be ok with stock, right? They aren't much regardless and I planned on upgrading some time but if I dont have to do it right away I won't. The question that rules them all: GT2871 or BNR S3? Both are direct bolt ons and require almost no further modifications given you have stage 2 mods + AP. I've read that S3 spools slower and is generally less efficient, the GT2871 is a little more but if I'm already going to do it I might as well hit my peak without having to change half the internals. I also remember reading that there is a GTX28 now but haven't read up on it enough, is this an option as well? What will most safely/cost efficiently help me achieve my goal of 350-400WHP? Thanks! |
