(Thread Starter) |   Not Ranked : 0 score  GT3071, Steedspeed Mani, Epic Tuning FMIC Loving the Steedspeed mani, Epictuning FMIC and Grimmspeed EBC. Upgraded to a 4 button copper clutch. Spooling up very nicely now especially with the engine balancer removed. I'm based at high altitude not coast, without w/m made 322whp on 21 psi. Not to bad I think, very happy with the results. Some pics I took of the build. mazdamania likes this. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score ^^^ Yeah I was gonna ask the same thing. The pistons are gonna hold 330whp all day long, though, so it doesn't seem to be a problem. Just seems like the effort to put rods in would warrant spending $500 on pistons.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks guys. Yes I am running my stock pistons again, they looked brand new after we cleaned them up and I have 56250 miles on the car. The Epic tuning piping fitted perfectly, will post up the sizing of the pipes, it came with a Garret 400Hp core and Precision intakes, works like a dream! I had no fitment issues at all! The design lets you use the OEM silicone hose to the TB which means you have so much more space to work with. Clearances were perfect I couldn’t believe it!! Really a fantastic product. I am going to convert my w/m kit to spray just water on my FMIC core, I did not have any knock on 22psi, so I want to install the DO w/m kit now for this purpose. Also running a Wot Box and C-pe's RMM 80A, bit of vibration with this and the engine balancer out but other than that its fine. My fuel pump has no issues, for some reason its seems we don’t have problems with the FP on our side here in South Africa?? Yip it’s a RHD, love the C-pe triple pod gauge. The Denso ITV24’s also working like a dream. Replace the injector seals though, the were leaking and forgot to check the crows foot flex... Lenny I ported the IWG all the way and made the hole a bit bigger, will do some runs on video to show you guys my different maps and my wot pulls. The Unichip switch pic above is how I electronically change the boost from 15psi, to 18 psi and then finally 22 psi with the Uni Q chip and the help of the Grimmspeed EBC, no over boosting, just a little bit on 22 psi but then it immediately goes back to 22 psi and stays there. I have a 3" dp and full exhaust. Cobb SRI just the cone and MAF sensor housing then it runs to 3" and 4" inlet, no problem there. Just add some 10 point OB on 22 psi, going to run a comparative Dyno next week and do ¼ miles end of the month then I’ll update my thread. Heat and high altitude a killer, we lose +- 6% compared to the guys at the coast. I am also by passing the MAP sensor with the UniQ (for you guys who don’t know this product, Streetunit sells them and they are made here by us) so I will see end of the year if I can maybe go 23psi but that’s pushing the GT30 to the limit. Also asked Leen (Steedspeed) if the manifold can take the additional weight of the turbo and DP so he said yest it's as strong as a tank so left the turbo bracket off. (Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score thanks guys. no meth yet battling to get it set up properly, thinking of just using it to spray water on the cooler only once set up, shoudl be done this weekend. The kit much better tha the previuos PG fail I had. The core more efficient and the dumping sound amazing, backfiring not to bad eithe!  +- 2000m above sea level here and it was close to 40C degrees today so can imagine how this motor is taking strain, we normally run the cars at night which we'll do this week and do some nice vidoe's! Thanks Leen, the manifold fitted perfectly as has a very nice sound to it, the ceramic coating is also holding up very nicely, loving it! Had no knock at all on 22psi with the OB, can run 18psi on normal pump. I still prefer to use it anyhow, when we opened the motor it was evident that I used it and the motor was very healthy. Going to try and get the w/m kit sorted out this weekend to see if this will make any difference. According to my tuner it didn’t help at all...??? So will set it up again myself and take to another dyno for a run. Another mate of mine lowered his compression and he's running normal pump on high boost without a problem and no OB |

However, our raceteam here has always been running the OEM / K1 rods combo. Before the K1's they kept breaking rods, never had any fail on the OEM pistons. And yes, saving on Pistons = Steedspeed Manifold!! |

My car only does this when I wot shift with the Wot Box, normal driving conditions it does not do this. Secondly, my friend is also running the same piggyback (Uni Q from Unichip Unichip Automotive Performance - Homepage ) and he is making his car backfire on purpose by switching it on and off wit his Bluetooth connections, just to prove a point on the capabalities of the Uni Q. I have a dvd where the designer of the Uni Q (South African) does this with his twin turbo charged Lambo making 1400whp by the way.... Times he ran, testing with V-box using his Uni Q (Lambo Gallardo) 100-200Km 4.3 sec 200-300Km 7.63 sec 100-300Km 11.93 sec Go compare these times to a Bugatti Veyron.... I will try and get this from DVD to a format to load as a Youtube clip then you can see it for yourself. Please, this has nothing to do with tuning (backfire) and you'll see when I load the clip OK?? |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score cool bud, the Lambo is insane I have tried very hard for the owner to take me for a ride, you see how they manipulate the Uni Q to backfire on the demand  That is what my friend was doing in his Speed 3 My w/m finally sorted out, testing tomorrow then then back on the Dyno to see results. Hoping for at least 345whp Now saving up for a GTX3071R..... By the way I saw a few Speeds on here (drag racing that also backfire when wot shifting)  |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks guys, yes it becomes irrelevant to compare modified cars to stock super cars and vice versa, all I was trying to say is that we have a very intelligent and effective tuning/piggy back device that tunes our cars and that it’s not shit because it backfires. Like the saying goes, do some reading and homework before you dish a product. @ jax if you have an experienced Speed mechanic not so bad, if not then do some research on here before you jump into it. Need to change, - Big ends and mains, bearings - Head gasket - Skim head if required / check for leaks etc - Resize rods to fit and fit - Rings - Remove engine balancer - Replace injector seals / check crow's feet etc (thread on it) - Engine mounts, espeacially RMM - Upgrade clutch There is a lot of stuff, it was easy for the guy that did mine, he opened +- 15 of them a year so was easy as pie! |
