W everybody throwing tips out for bolt removal, just turn your car on and get everything nice and hot for a few minutes... It made a HUGE difference w my stock DP... But you're orange, so you probably already know what to do... Fuckin matt, wish he would stop throwing business away!

Lol!! Of course I know everything already!
Now who can tell me which way to turn my mbc to make it more faster?

I haven't given up on HTP yet. I just haven't been actively persuing anything yet. Up until now, I hadn't fully decided what I want to do with the intake. I'll prob get him to make me one and I'm sure I can modify it enough to make it work with the gen 1 battery box if there is a significant difference.

meh holes in IM= turbulence? prolly not enough to make a big deal but just nitpicking the small stuff. Good luck wit the build! wanna see this gtx turbo on a speed already.

I always wondered why more guys didn't go for the gtx setup. I guess it costs a bit more and we are all cheap ass mazdaspeed drivers.

the gtx turbos cost just over $2oo more vs the regular bolton gt line so it is worth it to anyone going BT

yeah cause you are gonna pay about that much more for a 3076 and the gtx71 will flow just as much plus you can spool like a 3071 with it. A twinscroll GTX3076 would be bad ass though for sure!

I originally ordered the gt3076 but after seeing your thread and learning that this was an option readily available for us I quickly changed my order.

I wanted a 3076 as I'm trying to get near 400whp and still have room to turn up the boost if I want to later down the road. But at the same time I wanted the quick spool of the 3071. With the gtx3071 I should be able to get best of both worlds.

I don't think it really spools any sooner. It has the power of a 35, though. Mah boi Andy made 613whp @ 35psi with one on his Focus. Still has a little bit left in it, too.

Yeah, the GTX just takes the power up to the turbo one step above it. So with the GTX package, the 71 has the power of the 76 but the spool of the 71. The 76 has the power of the 35 (or close to it) and the spool of the 76. Thats why twinscroll GTX76 would be so awesome. It would spool like a 71 and make power like a 35.

I didn't leave a message... But I'll call them on Monday.

The uninstall portion has begun. The intake/battery box/intercooler/heat shields/top o2 sensor has been removed. I also installed the manual boost gauge, just have to run the line through the fire wall. Tomorrow we remove the EM and the rest of the stuff. So far no fail to report other than my boost line to the gauge is gonna be to short. Oh and I'll post a pic of my ko4 tomorrow. It is caked in gunk on the inlet and it doesn't want to spin. Takes considerable effort to make it spin the blades and it will not spin freely at all.

Not anymore it's not...

Started and oil went everywhere. Tightened oil feed on top of the turbo and no more oil everywhere. Put some more oil in and fire it up again. It reeves up and boost a little but after that my car is na. No boost at all. Rev up and gauge jumps up to 0 then falls. Dustin says it's prob the waste gate actuator rod binding against the coolant return line that comes on th turbo. It's drivable but it is in turbo delete mode for the moment with waste gate stuck wide open I'll take pics tomorrow when we get the car up in the air again. I also got to tighten up a couple bolts on the em that I'm pretty sure got forgotten.

From here, I don't have the time or the resources as most of you so I think I'll drive my N/A speed3 over to cobb this week and get them to fix it. I would do it but the last of my help leaves tomorrow at noon and I've gotta pull the turbo again if I'm gonna fix the problem. DJ says he told ATP a month ago about the problem and I feel like it should have been fixed before I even thought about ordering my turbo. I ordered a drop in turbo did I not?

Any ways, I'm exhausted and going to bed I'll start dealing with this shit tomorrow...

yeah we had some uber nasty shit with one of the coolant lines being bent, but there was some tight ass clearance with the wastegate on frodaddy's car. thank god i'm skinny as hell and could maneuver under and around and get to the wastegate and connect it to the boost control solenoid. crazy shit. good luck at cobb man.

I know there's at least two versions of the wastegate that ATP uses... There's an older one where the nipple exits on the top and is slightly belt around a heat shield, and a newer one that exists on the side of the WG. There's also minor differences on the rod itself, for adjusting the preload (on certain models?). I'd like to see how you're routing the lines and what your ...rod... looks like... (for curiosity sake).
