Default IWG Bracket

Lately I have been gathering parts for a big turbo build and decided I would be going with an ATP3076. I will be running EWG and one of things I would like to use is a bracket to hold the IWG shut.

Grimmspeed makes these great brackets

for subaru turbos but offers nothing for us.

I contacted them asking about making something like that for our ATP turbos but they stated it would cost over 100$ to build one unless there was enough interest to mass produce them.

So post up if your interested in having a bracket to hold the ATP IWG shut.

A reputable exhaust shop can weld the gate shut. All it takes is a real nice weld job and it won't be a problem. You can also help it out by wiring the arm tight or making a cheap bracket. I wouldn't pay over $100 for such a simple procedure.

Their brackets cost 25$ for the subaru's and that's what they would probably cost for us given enough interest. Welding the flapper shut removes most resale value of the turbo.

I had made my own bracket on the last setup, similar to what they offer, but a lil different.

I like their solution much better.

I'd buy one just to have one, and get one made for the mazdaspeeds. Count me in.

Yeah for sure. For us it is that we would take an already existing one and modify it to fit correctly. But as with all of our products it has to be spot on, not a quick fab project. As I told the OP if we can get significant interest in this product I will have him or somebody else send in a turbo to build a "first" off of then start production. Is this a popular turbo option for most of you?

A ton of people run the ATP bolt-on turbos and end up having the IWG welded shut. Your product would definitely sell if it gets made.

going with the ATP turbo is much cheaper then having to reflange your downpipe and going through the trouble of making custom oil and coolant lines.

and why the fuck do you keep tagging people in your posts.

Not everyone has fab skills... and i'd rather not have to build 1123423234135 of these things for everyone who want's to go ewg, hahaha. I have too much on my plate already.

Real aftermarket >> dustin building everything, hahahahaha.

Will, the most common turbo upgrade is the drop in ATP gt series. The 2871 / 3071 have one actuator position, and the 3076 has another (slightly lower). But afaik, the flappers on the turbine are in exactly the same spot. They just custom bend the arm on the 3076.

Should be a simple bracket, and save people alot of hassle IMO.

@manelscout4life
@Bucker

if I'm not mistaken, though, the EWG housings flow better than IWG housings sorta obama modded to do EWG. Especially if you're going 3076 to begin with, since you're spending the money on going EWG via manifold, you need a screamer pipe or recirc pipe for the wg dump as well.

Not that it matters, I'm a long, long way from BT, but meh.
