I'm sure it wouldn't be too bad to have.. Haha. Quaiffe LSDs are amongst the best out there but, we already have an LSD.. Yeah I would say it's worth to get if yours is broke.. But other than that it's pretty much a waste of money.. Not a total waste but the gains would never justify the cost.

maybe you guys are all just interested in going in a straight line. in that case you, bought the wrong car.

the stock lsd and this one are totally different. stock is a cone type, the quaife is helical gear type.

it will reduce torque steer and is more effective at multiplying torque to the wheel that has grip.

They also help in exiting corners...

sounds good, now give us some specific details why it's so great. I'm not being smart I just want to know the specifics. Thanks

I would say that unless you are super hardcore into autocrossing, there is no need. Even then, it would probably be one of the last pieces that I bought. The only time I have wished my LSD worked better is in tight turns where I can overpower the tires (which is everywhere in autocross). This generally means 1st/2nd and sometimes 3rd gear. Straight line: our LSD works very well. Larger radius turns in higher gears: it works pretty darn good.

ask saitech he actually has one. better than just saying, no it's not worth it. the quaife is one of the reasons all the reviewers like the focus rs so much...

you need to crack your trans case open. the local trans guy at the dealer was very reluctant to install the one on saitech's car. i don't know anyone who has done it themselves unfortunately. if it were easy, i'd definitely buy one.

If it's anything like other transmissions/differentials you need to measure/adjust preload using various sized shims and proper technique. It's a PITA and definitely not plug & play.
