I want to go BT but I can't decide which way to go. My pocket book says BNR S3 but my nut sack says GTX3071. Throw in my brain's input which says this is a DD so stop being an idiot and I am getting stressed out over nothing. Plus I am leaving for the UK in a couple weeks and who knows how much money I am going to waste over there.

do like I did and go in the middle. GT3071. With edge's sale till the end of the month, its only a couple hundred over the BNR if you sell your stock for a core to someone.

It's that hhskinny guy. I think rebuild kits are $50 so I if I could get $200 then it might be worth it to me. I've got another smokey k04 that I could sell as well.

FML, this would be so much easier if I didn't have to buy her a ridiculous engagement ring.

haha, been there done that. Shit is expensive. Found out getting one custom made is actually a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a "designer" ring. Just an FYI. And then you can tell people you had it custom made.

If you need a guy, I know a jeweler in k-zoo who is the shit.

OK really confused. Realized I never hooked up the valve cover vent. Does it go to the intake? I honestly can't remember where I unhooked it from, the intake?. Someone please help me not be stupid.

Its throwing a P0103 now.

Show me a pic. I think I know but need to see it.

I think it goes to the intake with the hose with the kit. Not the plastic piece.

You should have a vacuum hose running from the valve cover to your TIP or SRI/CAI.

That is what I remember. We removed the one with the blue plastic. There was a replacement hose in the kit.

So things never seem to go smoothly for me.

Yesterday I got my car running and flashed my new tune from Justin. Car ran pretty well, drove it the 50 mile round trip to work and only had 1 issue (blew a coupler off my FMIC piping). So I get it home to work on the coupler and notice I never hooked up the valve cover vent hose back up. Hooked it up to my intake and decided maybe I should re-flash my map and do another 50 miles before I send @atvfreek; a log.

Flash the new map, and now I have 3 CELs (P0101, U2064, U2023) the car hardly will idle, and my AP is showing a constant “-0” for LTFT as well as STFTs. Not sure what is going on, but I could really use some help. Really starting to regret doing this install.

For idle, did you check that all of your vacuum lines are tight and routed correctly: EBCS, BPV, valve cover, etc?

Is the plug for your MAF sensor clean?

Did you change your MAP sensor and did it seat properly in the IM?

You should completely uninstall and reinstall your AP. COBB has suggested this in the past when troubleshooting communication "U" codes.

I will re-check all my lines, but I think they are good. Im not 100% sure if I connected them all correctly, I made a map of my pluming a few posts back, that’s how I have done it. I will have to see if that is correct. The only difference from that diagram is that my BPV is still hooked up to the manifold because I ran out of hose to get it to my vacuum block. That will be remedied soon.

I never unplugged the MAF so I would think it is good. I unhooked it from the old intake, and then hooked it up to the new one.

I will double check the MAP sensor too. I did change it.

Cant hurt to uninstall and reinstall I guess. The thing that gets me is it was running fine yesterday. I made one little change (to the correct configuration I believe) and shit goes south in a hurry.

Ok, thinking my MAF sensor is going bad, or something isnt working with it. Like I said my LTFT and STFTs are all at 0. My MAF voltage reads a constant 5v and I get no readings from the Mass air flow data either.

Any one had this issue?

I would offer my MAF spray but it is in the Speed in IL.

Is there something that you forgot to install somewhere? Things were a little chaotic when I left. Maybe pull out the MAP as it might not have seated right. It looked right and felt it when I installed it but maybe something didn't work right. The diagram looks right (but I'm not an expert on it).

Yeah I need to check the connections but it looks seated and connected. Shouldnt it give me some reading even if its not seated?

I would think. I did a quick search but I didn't find anything of value that would help.

So here are a couple pics from the install as promised. Still have some clean up to do, and a freaking MAF sensor to replace.

I dont know how to make them show up inline.

It actually would have given a little more space to work had we done it before hand. But yeah, just for the paint, which ended up coming out quite poorly, and may need to be re-done.

So I thought I would throw this in here too in case anyone has this issue. It would have been nice to know about it before hand.

I have the PG FMIC kit, and with the K04 it was close. The hot pipe sat on the valve cover vent hose mount, so the fitment wasn't perfect but it’s the only way it worked. I didn't particularly like the set up, but for $200 shipped I couldn't turn it down.

Went I went to the 3071 the coupler wasn't going to reach. I first tried to run it, and actually made it 20 miles before I blew it off, but it was being held on by hopes and dreams (and maybe half the hose clamp). Luckily for me I have a lathe in my garage and some space 2” tube that came with the turbo. Made a little extender and everything sits great now Actually have a little clearance like it probably is supposed to be.

I'm thinking NATOR gift fund for @maisonvi; so he can get said welder. Maybe he can create his own exhaust manifold (custom ftw). What do you think @LynzeC; @IamJamen; @jomc111; @pingapoo; @MSAtenza; @Neubreed; @mswierse; @HawkeyeGeoff; @mazspeedshiz; @derek0609; ?

haha, man I dont have enough time to keep my own shit running. I still havent finished up the last batch of shift knobs I have left. I will leave the manifolds to those who know what they are doing and have the time to do it.

Did my first WOT log yesterday. Working with Justin to get the MAF dialed in. I know I like the exhaust note right now. Sounds perfect IMO, not to loud, but just loud enough.

Only done one map revision so far, so things are still in a pretty safe area. I would guess Im less than 300 at the wheels right now.

Its awesome to be able to drive it for real now. Getting excited for it to be done.
IamJamen likes this.

Bit of an update. Freek says my MAF cal looks good but when I did some logs on my way to work this morning I had some odd sputtering and then saw some decent KR when I looked at the logs.

Sucks because I missed selecting fuel pressure for the logs so hopefully justin can do something with what I sent him.

I was just going to post up tonight something. Might as well do it now.

Still working on the tune with Freek. Mass airflow sensor going bad, ended up fouling up my plugs, so I was getting massive blow out. New plugs and a couple revs later and this is where Im currently at. Trying to clean up the AFR plots.

Pretty stoked about it. I don’t know if it has much more left in it on pump gas though, but I will leave the deciding when the tune is up to Justin.

I cant wait to get a little E85 in it and see where it will go. I still plan to stop at a safe point, the E85 tune is for dyno/fun runs on the weekend, but I will keep the pump gas tune for the road course/DD time. I would really like to have an E85 tune done for my dyno day I have on the 25th, but Im gone Saturday to Thursday of next week so it might be hard.

@jomc111; what are you putting down power wise? Curious what the 3076 looks like compared to the 3071
