Hey, hey, not so fast there bud. Those APR things are closer in performance to our BNR S3 (aftermarket stock replacement w/larger wheels & compressor housing) than they are to our stock K04.

Need to be a Tial hotside. If we can find one for cheap, I'll do it. The turbo itself is easy to pull. Inb4blow the seals on that bitch out.

Im sure tial doesnt make a hot side that will fit the k04, but you can buy the flanges I know, and I know how to weld.....

Edit: pretty sure the non-nitrous K04 record is like 375whp. The nitrous record is like 500hp

bahaha man. Awesome. What if I did this....it would be ridiculous. I know @phate; runs a K04 on a built motor for AutoX purposes and has lots of success with it.

I've been following this thread for a while and will be running the K04 on my built motor when it gets done. I think it will be interesting finding the actual maxing out point of the turbo. If anything, still having instant spool and being able to load up the torque will be fun!

There's no doubt a k04 can be a wild child. I think a BNRS3 will still be better in general and have crazy spool still.

Eh, K04 is still a K04 no matter the engine or compression ratio. ~330hp and ~450lb-ft with enough octane and when you don't care about turbo longevity.

Coolant temps at the track at MWM got to 240, so I decided to try and make some ducting. First up an air damn. I will do more around the radiator as time goes on. We will see if this helps, but it will be hard to get accurate data now that the weather is cooling off.

Spent a total of maybe $8 on this, so the price was right.

This was just a sheet of pvc. We wi see how it does in the cold. If I have to I will switch to urethane, but for a first attempt it went cardboard->pvc

Look what finally showed up. Only took a month and a half. I should just gone through Edge (sorry guys).

But finally here is new larger rotors, and 6 piston calipers, 2 sets of pad (dd and track) stainless lines front and back, and fluid to top it off. Now I need to get to the junk yard and pick up the mazda 5 rear calipers and mounts they have.

Just in time for winter I bought aggressive summer tires on Gold RPF1 rims. Price was too good to turn down, plus Ive been looking for more traction than my RX8s with 235s offer.

Now I just need to sell my winter wheels to @nosnhoj1078; and my RX8s to someone, buy some all seasons for my stock rims and I will be back down to 3 sets instead of 5.
