Default MS3 GTX3076r EWG

Installing the ATP GTX3076r EWG kit on the MS3 but have hit a road block. When test fitting the downpipe to the turbo, the EWG & DP hit each other. This is preventing the DP from being installed.

Anyone else install this kit and how did you route the WG?

The oil return line is also hitting, but planning on clocking the turbo a little.

From pics the oy thing I can think of is make an angled 3 inch pipe to extend the wg farther down and the just cut the dump tube shorter .... That's my ghetto estimation .... I'm sure others with more experience may have a better solution . Well .... Then there is the BFH approach but let's try not to hit shit just yet lol

They offer a 90* pipe for the wastegate, fitment depends on what do you have installed. Looks like you need the 90.

Shit looks like u are all set Julio ... They offer 2-2.5 and 3 inch diameter

Elbow, Cast Aluminum, 2.5", 90 Degree : atpturbo.com

Call ATP up I'm sure u aren't the first to run this set up .... It's just a matter of angle and length of piping then just re adjust the angle and length of dump tube

This has nothing to do with the wastegate, the diameter is far too big. He needs the 90* elbow that they make for the wastegate.

Edge has the option for $105 with the ewg kit. Did you get it through them?

@rodrigo; no its smaller, but atp sells the 90* adapter he needs, its not a universal 90* bend and its not cast like what you posted.

Not sure if this will help. We ran into this fitment issue when we installed on @Jansi; car. Hopefully something in there might be helpful....

RIP K04, Hello GTX3071r

EDIT: A few post down the end result was extending the DP (with some welding) straight down to undo the dramatic curve causing the fitment issue.

Any WG issues with not using the water ports on the WG?

none that I know of, I don't think @Jansi; used them, but will let him chime in. I'm 99% sure he didn't.

It turned out real nice, the way it ended up left lots of room in there. It was too crowded with the DP, EWG, vac lines, return line and dump tube

Here's the link to my GTX3071r build.

RIP K04, Hello GTX3071r

I ran into the same exact problem you did. Honestly the best thing you could do is just get a downpipe that comes straight down from the hotside instead of that weird bend. What I did was cut up the DP custom build my DP with the existing one. We bought some stainless steel and just added where it needed to be. ***It costs alot of money and time to have someone custom fab a DP like that***

For the water ports, you just leave those open. They are seperatly chambered from the air ports.

Why would someone spend the time and more money to hack up a perfectly good downpipe when all you need is the $105 90 adapter..... I don't get it

Get an atp downpipe. I believe it fits better seems like it provides more room

Because I have the capabilty and will to do so ($40 is what it took to do the job)... You don't have to understand why people do it, not your car and not your problem.

But I'll answer your question anyways; It's about pride and accomplishment, its about what you put into your car knowing that you made it happen with what you got.

Looks about right, that would be some good info if you confirm the fitment. I believe the the DP with that dramatic curve is what is making the difference in individual setups

Received the 90 degree elbow today and it seems like it will work but waiting for the delivery of the v-band clamp.

Anyone have an idea what to put between the stock turbo bracket and the turbo for some support?

get rid of it, you don't need it unless you have a mani that has shitty welds or prone to cracking.

Bump.
@JCMS07; how did this turn out? Curious to know if the 90 degree elbow helped. Whenever I do a BT install, I will be going the same route you did more then likely.

@speed_freak91 The elbow did help to clear the downpipe, but since the location of the WG changed I need to figure out how to best route the dump tube. Right now it points towards the heat shielding above the downpipe so don't want to leave it like that.

The dump tube is finally finished thanks to Rodrigo for coming up with this solution. Ended up not using the dump tube with the 90 degree bend, but a straight pipe which was cut at a slight angle and then a flange welded to it.

The tube was also dented a bit for more clearance from the axle and cut to length.

When the tuning is done, I'll hitting the track the next time it's open.

Wanted to get opinions to make sure I have the PCV setup the right way. The PERM plate is installed with one opening going to a check valve > Oil Catch Can inlet > Oil Catch Can outlet is vented.

The other PERM plate opening is going to the stock PCV > Oil Catch Can inlet > Oil Catch Can outlet to check valve > Intake Manifold.

The valve cover is vented and the port on the inlet is plugged.

You just saved me alot of headache, I was gonna run the gate straight off the turbine housing but have a eBay dp and gonna eventually run a CNT one that has same sharp bend that interferes with the EWG dump.. Thankfully I had already bought a 90 + straight 38mm setup that I'll be using, thanks man for the quality high res pics!! This guy's 90* bend is a little longer than the ATP 38mm one but hoping it works
