Figured I would do one of these too.

2007 Mazdaspeed 6 51K miles

Parts list:
GTX3076
Tial 44mm EWG
CPE Exhaust Mani
PNP Intake Mani
CPE Safe Seals
Stage 2 DO Meth
PERM PCV plate
HTP 3.5 " intake
3 Bar
Guardian Angel
Front Engine Mount

Had to take a before picture. Not the cleanest engine bay


Ended up getting the wrench that was wedged between my engine and transfer case for the past year YAYYY great success!

And here is when the fun begins. Have to start with turbo comparison


CPE mani and DP bolted on. I could not imagine would it would be doing this while either the turbo or the mani was on the car..


What I ended up doing is mounting all the lines on the turbo prior to dropping it all in.
Here is some sweet brazing work. I ended up not using the 90 degree elbow and brazing a whole new 45 degree so it would better align with the cut oil return line


When dropping the CPE mani in as mentioned before... take out the windshield crawl. Spend the 10 minutes but it will make your installation a breeze.

Fabbed up a meth tank bracket and put the pump right under it with another bracket that is invisible from the carpet


Cleaned the valves and no the valve was not open when i cleaned it

Finished my oil catch can setup with dual port Perm PCV plate

The gunk that was built up in the old IM.


Front and the back of the engine are back together. Except for the EWG and screamer pipe which will be done soon. Time to work on the side

Well its up and running. got it started. no visual leaks for now. Started it really late (8 pm) so I could not really look for leaks from every part I have touched. Too much air in the coolant so my engine temp went up to 235 at which point I decided to cut it for tonight. I will run it tomorrow again hopefully get the coolant circulating normally.
From what I could tell it is circulating. since it went from 190 to 235 in about 30+ minutes. If there was no coolant it would of overheated in a heart beat.

Ill give an update to what happens.

I need to break the turbo in first before I let you guys know about the front engine mount vibrations. At low speeds it feels the same as when I had the AWR trilogy. But yet again I dont have a balance shaft... girls love this car. Free vibrator

As of now I have 10 miles on the turbo. Needs a proper tune since I am knocking like crazy at no boost and low rpm.

I will keep you guys posted.

Haha well it was about time I got the car running. Took my sweet time with every part of it.

Now that she is running. I rarely see any knock. And if any, it is very minimal.

The EWG is really loud. Tried getting some videos up but having 4 engine mounts all the highest duro I could get and no balance shaft made too much cabin noise to really hear the EWG. Not to mention the vibration

It was running awesome for the past 2 weeks.
Recently i got a boost leak somewhere in the line. Today pressure tested and I cant find it. i have to look into it more.
The car has trouble boosting. and it is running very rich when i shift so i am suspecting it is from the BOV. good thing I have my forge BPV still so when I get a change I will put it in and see

You checked all your fmic piping/couplers? Are you self tuning the car?

The bov leaking is probably the first place to check if you don't see any leak going outside and then maybe a pcv for the OCC.
As long as the A/F is too rich, it mean that some air passing thru the maf is escaping somewhere out of the engine without beoing burned.

Doubt it's the pcv going to the catch can. It goes IM-->pcv-->occ-->check valve-->crank case.

I checked all the piping in the engine bay and they seem fine. I have 4 couplings behind the bumper so I will have to pop that out and see them.

I did find a leak coming from the bov gasket which I fixed by putting some silicone on it. But still no boost... Idk I will try few more things and let you guys know what I find

Let me correct that. I do see boost. It climbs up veeeery slowly. At 7k rpm I am getting 17 psi. Compared few logs and I was hitting full boost at 4k now I get 5 psi

Exact thing just happened to me. Ended up blowing my bpv gasket in half because one of the nuts on my flange for the bpv backed out. So I'd boost, bpv would lift a little because no nut, then destroyed the gasket. I bought one from turbosmart (even though you have forge, the flange should be the same) and scanned it into my computer and made a printable template If you want to make another one. Autozone sells gasket material. I outlined it and had my lady cut it out because she has much steadier hands.this was of course before I bought the replacement.

I plan to CAD the gasket but for now it works. Lete know If you want it lol.

I have a go fast bits bov on the car right now. The gasket was leaking so I fixed it. Now it still does not hold the pressure when I fill up the system with the compressor. Found a leak on my intake mani gasket. Bolts guess came loose from all the vibration. Have to start putting locktite on them.

Now my question is: say I pump the system to 13 psi, should it hold 13 until I let it out or is it normal for some to escape.

I will go more into it this weekend and try to find anything else loose

I can not figure out what the problem is. I pressure tested the car found few minor leaks which I fixed but I am still running too rich and do not boost properly.

When I pressurize the system it very slowly drops down to 0 psi on my gauge. So I figured even if there was some kind of a leak I would still be able to boost with just a minor leak. But that not the case.

Here are 2 log : log 28 is idle on a cold start. fuel trims are at -12
log 29 is a drive around the block. you can see that every time i release the gas my fuel trims spike to -26 because my afrs are all over the place

Quick update:
After all this pressure testing and smoke testing I found out why the turbo was not spooling. My IWG bracket came off and the IWG was fully open at all times -__-
