Default My medium sized turbo build

So I've been working on my car for the past 6 weeks. I started putting parts on it from day one and then i made it to the point of not going back.

I finally was going to put a gt30 turbo on because my turbo was smoking from the dp install. The ptp smoke fix thing worked, but not 100% of the smoke was gone.

I bent all four rods while pushing my car somewhat hard and my hose to my wastegate and boost controller popped off and my boost gauge as i was looking at it thinking, "damn I'm hauling ass" spun around twice or more. So that was it for my car.

I started buying everything to rebuild the motor. So i figured i would get some good stuff now. The part i liked the most of all this was my machine guy. He hooked my motor up like no other and did some stuff I've never seen of before.

I had a little problem in my first start up, and in the end found out that it was my valve lash all messed up. Machine guy didn't know i didn't have rockers so he took care of it in a day and i was running all perfect

Here's a few pictures of my build. Some different some the same others have

Now just waiting on a tune so i can do some hard pulls to see what this machine can do

I love the smaller turbo faster boost setup better. I'm only looking for a little over 400hp. And to 71 has enough power to easily push that and spool pretty quickly. I never hit the track and just play around a little on the streets. I love larger turbo set ups that have to wait till 4500 to get full boost and I'm already hitting the next gear

GTX3071 for the win, GT is good, but GTX is a no brainer.

You'll definitely get over 400 with a good tune.

Build Looks good though, lots of money for something that never hits the track

I have 23psi @ 3724 rpm with my HTA3582R.

Not all big turbos spool slow.

Nice build btw.

BT is an epidemic around here.

Maybe in a year or so when im tired of my setup ill look into a larger turbo. I should pay my car off first though. Then make it a side project just for the weekends. I hate driving my beater car now, it makes me feel real cheap.

Why do you all say big turbo. A gt42r is a big turbo. the 30r is so small compared to it. And the K04 is a baby turbo. And of course there's the gt12, if you really wanting to go oh so tiny

Nobody in their right mind would run a gt42 on this car. If you do, you're a fuckin tard. Big turbo is a relative term, and when you compare a gt30 or above to our stocker, it's big.

good job, interested in finished product.

I've been thinking about going GT12..against the grain you know, everyone is going BT..make some real small power.
