Nator SoCal Wetting your bitches vages one Twin Turbo Build at a time

So after much deliberation I have decided to post up some pics a little early. She is still in the fabrication stages so it will still be a bit till she is battle tested but I am hoping for some fun results.

First a little history about this puppy. I picked her (2006 MS6 GT w/o Navi) up for the cool price of 13,200.00 with 47k on the clock back in late may. After throwing about 4k at her to get her bolted tragedy struck. Turns out you need a fuel pump cam rider after all (long story). I ended up sheering the fuel pump plunger but before that had the chance to fail it stopped the intake cam in its place causing the cam gear bolt to sheer. I.E.. catastrophic head failure. I haven't had to chance to inspect the valves yet but I am expecting the worst.

The build-

The block will still be useable and will be receiving a full rebuild to include Forged Wiseco pistons Forged Pauter rods. A full set of ARP bolts and studs will be the toothpick keeping this delicious sammach together. I was going to build the head along with the block but it looks as if I will be running into fueling problems long before I max out the flow on the head so she will be rebuilt back to factory specs.

The heat-

The Exhaust manifold is constructed out of Schedule 20 302 SS.


The balls-

I will be running twin K04's. The original plans for the exhaust mani were to run runners 1 with 4 and 2 with 3. Turns out that due to space constraints these plans had to you out the window. I will be using runners 1 with 2 and 3 with 4 to spool these shits. The fabrication of the down pipe has proven to be the biggest pain in the ass yet but she is a fucking beauty. If it wasn't so small around (3in) I would fuck it. VIP's you know what I'm talking about The down pipe will be a slip fit design.

The Blow-

I will be using 2in od aluminum piping on the pressure side y'ed into 3in down to the IC for the hot side. I am using a no name 3in in 3in out same side intercooler. The Cold side will be 3in as well connecting back up to the engine bay where a coupler will bring it up to 3.5in od to mate up with a tredstone 3.5in maf housing. I will be running a blow through maf setup using honeycomb air straightener before the maf to counter turbulence. Set up courtesy of @bcmurphy87. Meth will also be included in my setup controlled by an Aquamist HFS-5.

The tune-

Perm nigga . Nughf said.

All the parts are bought and paid for and I am in the process of fabing up the oil and coolant lines. If anyone has any stock coolant lines they can throw my way it would be appreciated. Now the fucking pictures!!!

Update:

Blow thru setup is nearly complete, I just need to install the air straightener and she will be done. The BOV flange is going to be mounted as shown in the added pic. I have chosen to install it pre maf so I can VTA and impress all 1 of my Asian friends without problems. I will be running a 50mm Tial BOV (should be big enough to do the job). As you can see I had to give up a little crash bar Ill keep keep my fingers crossed that I won't ever miss it. I am going to need to re primer and paint the exposed metal areas to prevent future corrosion. Part of the inner fender had to be removed as well to accommodate the 3inch cold and hot pipes. I don't know if I have pics but I can get some. This is essentially it for the fab stages of the build. I will be pulling the motor and building the engine these coming weeks. I will also be rebuilding the turbos. Ill keep you all in the loop. Till then enjoy the new pics. Thanks again for looking

Believe it or not this was actually cheaper than building a big turbo Build and I expect to see equal results. Plus it's badass as a motherfucker

equal results... Ok I know we talked about whether or not it will work so here is a baseline log to compare towards your car when it is up and running. You will be using the same tuner so no major differences except my fwd fail and your awd. It isn't so much of "IF" it works but HOW WELL it works compared to a BT.

The ultimate test is to compare it to @derekdoo's monstrous 6031 that BARELY fits in his engine. Although I am sure his turbo was much less $$ then what you're doing. Correct me if wrong please.

The 1.8 VW guys consider them upgrades. I guess it just depends on how you look at it. I looked at it like this. (BT 1500.00, DP 150.00 ,Mani 650.00, intake/tip/maf housing 200.00, fmic and piping 350.00, oil/coolant lines 80.00, extra parts and fab 75.00+) these numbers are under rated give or take a couple hundred but you get the idea. (Twin Turbo set up Extra turbo 50.00 shipped, Rebuild kit 80.00, fab up mani/intake/ic piping 1700.00, fmic 150.00, couplers and clamps 150.00, maf housing/air straightener 90.00, oil and coolant line fab 90.00, Perm tune Priceless.. ) you get my point. I am also chasing the idea that it will spool faster then a 3076, but being as no one has ever built one I guess we will just have to wait and see.

A k06 on a small 4cyl would be a fun car to play around with, and basically with 2 k04s it's like having 2 1.6L motors, each getting blown by a k04

So you have a 2.3L k08, or some crazy shit.


I'd highly suggest you get good raisers so you can vent all the heat from the extra turbo.
