Default New build getting tuned on saturday

Hey guys, I just figured I'd post that my build is finally done. I have forged pauter rods, stock compression wiseco pistons, ARP studs, a 6 puck sprung ACT clutch, and did a BSD on the motor. My turbo setup is a GT3076 with a tial 38mm external wastegate with a pg version 3 manifold, and full 3" CP-E inlet and intake. For boost control I am using the grimmspeed EBCS and will be getting a tune at Akuma motorsports on saturday with the COBB accessport. I'll post the dyno sheets in the dyno section as soon as I can when I get back! Hopefully I can post some decent numbers without meth. Wish me luck!

Taking a guess at what you are going to get.... dynojet hp should be about 365-380 (speed3) and about 340-350(speed6) at about 20 psi knock off about 20-30 off each if you are on a mustang dyno.

Was hoping you werent gonna say Cobb AP. I hope you get some good numbers but its been shown that the AP can't pull the same numbers as the SB+flashes on these BT setups time and time again. I do wish you luck though, your poor front wheels wont withstand the power either way lol!

I hear Akuma have good tuners but AP unfortunately has issues right now. Good luck with your numbers though.

Ok well I'll post the pic of the sheet up tommorrow. It was on a mustang dyno with the ATP fail flange. At 17 PSI I got 289 HP and 279 TQ. I will be doing some over the internet tuning to get my boost up. On the dyno doing a one gear pull no matter what gear it will only hit 17 PSI however when running through multiple gears on the street or the dyno it will hit 19.5 and hold there. Kinda tough to see what the numbers actually are at the 19.5 but I'm going to work with John to try to get it perfect. John was very picky about the way he tuned it and as you will see when I post it up the power curves are awsome. Definitely a good guy to go to for a tune. (I will however be most likely going to a stand back within the next 6 months or so If I cannot get the numbers I want out of the AP.

dude.... take if from me as a former ap owner.... ditch that shit asap. dont listen to "naw the ap is good" "it will make power one day" "cobb will help us" "well Brian bla bla bla" fuck that shit. fuck cobb and fuck anyone who says its worth keeping around and worth the time to fuck with the long flashe time and the break-in times of the maps. i switched to sb bigger maf and all the flashes and this mother fucker will hurt some fellings and this is only at 19-20 psi and still e-tuning (tune will be done soon.... then 27psi tune ) the only thing i miss with the ap is the flat foot shifting and..... and....... and..... ummm thats it.

get rid of that shit and go sb..... u wont be sorry.... well i take it back you will be sorry... that u waited so long to dump that P.O.S. AP

lol nah I didnt mention that. I have a COBB downpipe and greddy TIC catback. I appreciate all the advice however for the moment I am out of money haha. Also brian hit 20 PSI on this dyno and I only hit 17 which would make a significant difference.
I believe brian was using a MBC and I am using a very finiky (for some reason) grimmspeed EBCS . I will keep working on it in the mean time until I decide what to do with it next.

I believe brian was using a MBC and I am using a very finiky (for some reason) grimmspeed EBCS . I will keep working on it in the mean time until I decide what to do with it next.
Okies cool.

Just to make sure im following you right......You are making 289 whp/279 wtq @ 17 psi on the same dynojet dyno Brian made 380 whp@ 20psi???

First of all something is just not right...3 psi of boost is not gonna almost 100 whp difference..Hell I run a 291 whp @17 psi on a mustang dyno!! with few bolt ons and stock turbo lol. Theres gotta be something wrong here.

No, John at akuma has a mustang dyno as it says in my second post. brian made 333 HP and 309 TQ on this mustang dyno at 20 PSI. I am going to try to bring my numbers up by increasing boost and possibly switching to an MBC because I have a turbosmart one sitting around.

^^^ Thats what I thought. I don't think Brian's 18/20psi pulls were on the shops Mustang dyno. I also think a lot of people are mixing up dyno numbers in this thread... Mustang dynos are real ball breakers.

OP: how does it feel on the steet? How useless are the first 3 gears?

Okies......fair enough..I know he made 382-83 whp @20psi on dynojet. But was un-aware of the 333 whp on mustang dyno.

I agree dyno numbers are being mixed up.

Can I ask why your running mbc? When I emailed my tuner-Tim Bailey @Surgeline *best cobb ap ms3 tuner* imho....told me he would change out the solenoid,Told me to run EWG..and then have the Cobb AP control boost. No need for mbc.

Haha yeah there is some mixups going on. On the street it does pull hard, and i actually have the first 2 gears limited to 16 PSI to control wheelspin at the moment. Deffinatly faster than before but not fast enough. I am not running a mbc yet I am running a grimmspeed ebcs. This grimmspeed solenoid is being very difficult and will not work quite right for some reason so I might switch out. i believe brian at first used an MBC and then just went to using straight spring pressure.

i made 320whp and 343wtq at 19psi on a mustang dyno with stock turbo and oem manifold. not tryin to break your spirits at all, at least ur turbo is safe and pushin alot cooler air than these stock pieces of shit. you'll get it figured out one way or another man, and i the meantime you can be glad knowin you arent stressin those forged internals one bit so you r nice and safe. patience is number one with this car, and its something ive run out of lol

I guess cause most people can't or don't tune the first few gears to adjust the PSI... Is that what you did, or are you running with massive power in the first few gears? Better yet, what are you pushing? =)

i hope u seriously don't think that his mustang dyno had the same correction factor as the one u were on. OP i did 290 on johns dyno when i had the SST from ptp and dynojet was 343 uncorrected. ditch the grimmspeed. it didnt work for me or anthony either. just run a 20psi spring in ur ewg

yeah, I'm going to try a little more with the grimmspeed just because I paid for a tune and I don't want to have wasted that $$ so quickly. If the grimmspeed doesn't work in the end I'll tune with spring pressure.

Keeping your foot pressed against the gas pedal (all the way to the floor) while shifting. I.e. not letting off the gas at all.
