You can't really say 5th port is good for XXXWHP and 6th port is good for XXXWHP, it's so dependent on fuel and injector size... I guess you could say that about standard kits, but simply swapping in larger injectors changes that number significantly.

@2012FailWheelDrive; I'm going PT5858 now too
I'm selling the ATP GTX3076 in favor of this, basically from what I have read in this thread.

I'm going to use the same setup RealGib3 has used, with my 6th port injecting e85 from a separate tank and 91 for DI.

Why even bother with a separate tank though? Our fuel system has no issues running a decent amount of ethanol and you're going to put in a lot less effort for essentially the same thing. Just run an e mix through the stock fuel system and the PI system. K I S S.

The system is actually very simple to set up, and it has a lot of benefits, one of the biggest being the ability to supply a lot more fuel than the standard 6th port kits.

Are people having issues with fuel supply on 5/6th port kits? I mean as long as you can supply enough fuel to keep pressure where it should be at both the DI fuel rail and the aux fuel rail, why go through all the extra effort to fix a problem that doesn't exist? I haven't seen anyone having issues with fuel supply to the aux fueling rail/injectors yet. OEMs are running very similar setups to the 5/6th port kits in DI/PI cars with a single fuel tank. Sure, they aren't making 500WHP, but still, the current kits don't seem to have an issue.

@sidekick; here's why I'm copying @Realgib3;'s setup.

It's actually just as simple, since you get a trade off. This way, I'll leave the stock fuel system alone. I don't have to touch a thing. Specifically I don't have to go into the tank and replace the pump.
Also, for dd'ing, I won't use any e85. This way I don't have to worry about hitting those few e85 stations in California so often. I think it'll be easier for dd'ing. When I'm near e85, I top it up, other than that I'll just fill up at normal gas stations like normal. When I get low on e I can still drive around like a pussy until I get more e85, then I can zoom zoom again.

And another plus, I'll have my stock fuel system doing what it's designed for, handling 91 fuel. And my secondary fuel system, completely separate, doing what it's designed for, handling ethanol.

And to top it all off, no mixing! I hate that shit. Lol

I think of it as a meth system on crack. Pun intended.

Aaand if you ever want to go BIG or just switch to full PI cuz the manifold looks sexy, then all you have to change is the routing of the lines to the fuel rail.

There are actually a lot of benefits to running a separate tank. Some people may not see the use in doing it, but I absolutely love it.

The only "difficult" thing about running this vs the standard kit is you will have to have someone fabricate a bracket to hold your tank if you cannot do so yourself. Other than that, it's just connecting lines, just like any other setup.

Specs of your tank? And any pics installed? There seems to be some good benefits with the extra tank.

Thinking the same thing. That was the reason I didn't want to go with meth though was having to remember to have another tank full. Mark is it harder to tune running that way rather than just having all the injectors running the same mix out of the same tank?
But I do like the idea of not having my oem injectors looking like this anymore...

Definitely not harder to tune, in some ways slightly easier because your fuel flow through the secondaries is extremely consistent since it's an independent, regulated, return style system. For the most part though, it's the exact same tuning.

I tuned mine and Jake's cars at the same time this year, so I got a really good feel for the differences between the two, since the rest of our setups is almost 100% the same.

I can put together a list of all the pros and cons, but here's a couple pics of it installed.

The tank is 4gal and the bracket mounts to the back of the pass rear seat and the frame of the car, under that cardboard cover and everything. I also put a pic of where the regulator is mounted in the engine bay as well.

I may go with a smaller tank and mount it in the engine bay somewhere, but that's just because I can go a whole summer on 2 refills of that 4gal tank lol and I wanna move any weight I can to the front of the car. This tank and placement I currently have does work very well though.

@Realgib3; what pump/s are you running with this setup? Is it an inline style pump like an 044? This seems to be a great idea since its a return style system with a regulator.

Did you see any issues with Jake's setup? I was just going to go with his setup and run it the same way as it seems to work so why not. That just seems nice so that I don't have to plan my trips and also I'm usually already carrying a 3 gallon tank with me that has ethanol in it in case I go somewhere that doesn't have the E

Yep, just an inline Walbro 255 with a small inline fuel filter. Cheap and simple.

No issues at all other than fuel headroom, but as you know he made what 99% of people would consider PLENTY of power with that setup.

Awesome man. I like the setup. If I do end up making the switch to full PI down the road I'm tempted to do this. Simple easy and no mixing. Have you ever thought about switching to an 044 pump if you go full PI

Him being one of the people that would disagree lol. I'm not really considering this in terms of it making enough power or that Jake's setup didn't make enough. The reason I'm considering it is pure convince being that I don't have an E station right across the street

Definitely considered it, may do it if I switch up the setup to run a smaller cell in the engine bay. We'll see, the 255 has done a great job so I may just stick with it.

Another REALLY nice thing about this setup is that when you're going for big big power, is it allows you to essentially run a progressive E mix. This means the higher the airflow (and subsequently horsepower and heat), the higher the % of ethanol you'll be running.

This is very beneficial, so you can run straight 93 or just a SMALL amount of E in the main tank which keeps gas mileage up (not that most of us care) and keeps the stock fuel system very happy, while still injecting enough E when you really need it.

Yeah I am insanely lucky that I live in walking distance from the E haha.

With that said though it is soooooo nice to only have to worry about filling up with E a couple times a summer, if that. I'm telling you, that 4gal tank last FOREVER.

Do you need a specific tanknrated for ethanol or is a generic plastic one ok?

Yep, the plastic tanks and the pushlock hoses are rated for alcohols. The pump and injectors technically are not, but none really are besides DW stuff and DSM guys run Walbro double pumpers all the time on ethanol with no issues.

I've got about 5-10k on that setup with no issues.

When the HTP Fender tank comes out that's what I plan on using.

Okay just wanted to check back in. The atp down pipe will work with the precision Vband you just have to get the gt31 Vband flange. I am getting a custom dp. In a package deal so I canceled the order for the atp. But if ordered through htp I was quoted 285 shipped for the long atp cattless dp. Just a heads up

Could you explain what you mean "GT 31" v band? I thought the precision v band was a different type of animal?

The pte Vband is not a male female type flange and needs a special size as it's not exactly 3 inch inner diameter. But this is only on the t3 to Vband discharge. On the t4 with Vband discharge the exhaust has an inner diameter of 3 inches. When I called atp telling them what I needed and sent them the technical drawings for the Vband I needed they told me it is the gt31 flange they carry as they work with garrett turbos and don't use pte. They can make it work if you need a stock location Vband dp but I will have a top mount setup so I have to get a dp made.

@Realgib3; just double checking, what else is needed on top of the 6th port kit to run the extra tank?

A tank (duh), lines, and fuel pressure regulator. the 6th port kit will already have the ss controller for controlling fuel and everything else you need.

Im using an aeromotive 40-80psi regulator which has worked well for me. SP uses a different regulator thats probably an even better fit but I cant remember which one theyre using.

Alright just a quick update. I have pretty much everything to be able to put the turbo in, I went with the CPE vband manifold, and i just received my kozmic motorsports downpipe and dump tube and they look like some real quality pieces. Also have all the supporting little shit like 3bar map sensor, 3 port EBCS, oil lines, egr delete, etc etc. All i need now is a clucth and stuff to get a built block together as well as aux fueling lol.

Also I am going to wrap the downpipe and dump tube and I am trying to decide if i should wrap the exhaust manifold or get it ceramic coated. My buddy also gave me a turbo blanket for free so i will give it a shot as well.

Here are some pics of my stock pile haha.
