i wish u the best but a) i think u will give up before completing the task b) it will be a waste of money c) for the money you will invest you could have something better than what you would theoretically end up with.

doesnt mean i aint curious about how far u get though before u quit at this project. (sorry, im a realist)

I don't think it's a MS6 drive train, I think he's doing it on the cheap/better(?) with Focus or Volvo parts... but don't quote me on that. I believe I remember reading it a while back... OP don't leave us hanging...

It had nothing to do with cheap. It was what worked. I didnt want to use a fuel cell, so i used the s40 fuel tank. The awd stuff is some custom and other mazda. But it certainly had nothing to do with being cheap.

I mean i am no fool, but i certainly do not know everything. What i do know is that if this were done "on the cheap" it wouldnt last. I intend to sell this to someone and i refuse to sell someone a clap trap.

While I agree with Lenny, yeah I'd probably go with an EVO if I had the money laying around to have a fast little awd car, but I also see why someone would want to do something like this.

I wish you the very best of luck Jarod and I hope you succeed in this. Its a hell of a project but the satisfaction of driving an (almost) one of a kind car that you built cannot be matched by any evo or mustang that you see when driving around every day.

It's only complicated if you don't have the skills/connections to get the parts cheaply and do the fabrication work needed. This won't ever be a kit you could buy from someone for 5-6k

I'm sure you've looked into it, but as far as the MS3's power limitations in the first few gears to limit wheel spin, do you have a plan to eliminate that?

I'm sure you could pop in a MS6 brain, but I wonder if the MS3 wiring harness would be compatible.

I've been waiting to see your build, looks promising.

Check the blog fellas! I wont leave you hangin. More work was done today.

But i will say that i am not the type of person to embark on a project and give up. I will complete it so have no fear. I wont leave you in the dark about things, if you have questions just ask. Its not an easy project and it will require a lot of work and patience among other things. But i am doing 90 percent of the fab work myself. If i had a tig i would do it all, but my mig will get me through most of it.

Thanks for reading and supporting me through. And yes i could just go buy an EVO, but why when everyone else has one. They can be baller dont get me wrong, but i will enjoy my slow turd just as much and have greater satisfaction that its one of a kind.

Power limitations can be eliminated with the cobb....thats just a simple boost control issue. As far as using and MS6 brain the only advantage would be computer controlled AWD, but i would rather just flip my switch and have 50/50 split or all front. I feel some sand bagging coming on lol.

What car isnt a waste of money? I mean there is very little return on investment. I dont think about the money. What about being a realist though makes you think i will just quite after all the parts i have collected. Its not like there is a market for half of this stuff. Its not like i can just resell it all.

Have faith!

I've seen some pretty awesome awd conversions...

Best of luck to you.
My father and I made a AWD S.H.O. powered sand buggy with a eaton s/c

took work, but like you said... not everyone has it. I definitly agree with you on driving something unique. Every turd has a civic, integra, evo, sti...

I think the Cobb is the power limitation. Don't you already have a built motor? What is the reasoning for going awd if you haven't even pushed it fwd yet? Seems like a lot of work but best of luck and to each his own.

I am sure one of these days the cobb will catch up with everything else. If it doesnt i will switch, but i am not looking to make 5-600hp with this car. All i want is 400-450 to all 4. The car will be a blast to drive, will hook, handle well, and be able to go from a dig at a moments notice without major issues.

I have a ford probe that made about 400 to the tire and even with drag radials was not a whole lot of fun on the street below 40 mph and you can forget about a dig.

How much torque did that ford make? That's the important number.

So you've been tuning with the Cobb on a BT?

last time it hit the dyno it was making 383hp and 356tq respectively on 14psi. I ran as much as 16psi through it, but i am curious as to why you say that is the important number?

The big turbo is going on at the same time, but i will be first exploring the cobb and then if it does not make me happy for the time being i will wait till CPE release their tc3 and make my decision as far as engine management.

probetalk is the forum that got me into car forums. that place is great. i found so much useful information there. my sn is slvr gts, but i haven't been on in a while. i actually do have a spare 2.5l V6 with about 90k if you know anyone looking for a motor.

Well the peices for the rear end finally showed up today. So between water breaks i have been painting the rear subrframe and a arms. Let me just say that AWR did a phenominal job with the modding of the toe arms and making me derelin diff hanger mounts! Look for an update on the blog either tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks for the positive words!

Probetalk is the shit... Still on there. I've got a 94 PGT with a KLZE and JDM factory LSD tranny... Fun car. Slowly parting it out, finally sold my Teins earlier this month.

Good luck with the build. Hope you document everything!
