No it doesn't say you can't run a second restrictor. But like you said you can run the same size restrictor with out causing harm to the turbo

Haha...that won't tell you if it's a restrictor. You need a picture of the HOLE. Also, take a picture of the turbo oil inlet.

Also, I noticed you said you were going to put a 3" to 4" reducer on the compressor so you can use the 4" CP-e inlet. Not gonna happen. The CP-e inlet is silicone, not an aluminum pipe, so it will not go into a coupler. Maybe look into the ATP 3" TIP instead.

that feed you will need a dj oil line to connect to that

What I was going to do was use one of the metal connectors that can join the couplers together. Don't have the link on my phone or id post it up.

Yes, but if you put a coupling piece in there, it's going to move the TIP too far over and it will hit the battery box. Oh, actually, I should tell you...my 2.5" TIP didn't even fit with a Steed manifold and the turbo I have now. So you should really look into ECU relocation at a minimum.

relocation the battery to the trunk and relocation the ecu were the battery use to be at so you will have alot of room just a thought...

Is that my old turbo? If so theres no built in restrictor, and the piece used to connect the -4an line is just a -4an threaded connection

Ummm...that's very bad advice. Try running a full -4AN line to a turbo and see what happens to the seals in about 5 min.

The only thing cooling a journal bearing turbo is oil. When I was gonna run a holset hx35 at first the holset website strongly advised against using a restrictor in a journal bearing turbo. Ball bearing bad yes. Jb it's better without one from everything I've read. Especially cuz at idle our oil pressure can dip to crazy low psi, and any restriction is gonna make that a dangerous game

Ok, well I've heard of several people blowing past their oil seals, hopping online and going "My turbo is smoking, whyyyy??" and everyone goes, "Are you running a restrictor?" and they say "Ohhhhhh." Anyway, the .065" restrictor is almost double the size of the .035" restrictor you use for BB turbos. If you run a full -3AN line without restrictor to a JB turbo, you should be fine, but you won't find me ever running a -4AN line without one.

When I was doing research on this turbo, I read a lot on the srt forums that they kept blowing their seals after a couple weeks and just like @bmylez said they go on and ask why it happened and the other members asked if they were running a restrictor or not.

been running w/o restrictor 9000 miles! everyone fails to realize is their is one @ the block connection, and you want a little more oil to a journal bearing ......

Ah yes, I forgot to mention, I have a custom oil feed because my oil feed port threads decided to strip out. So I do not have the restriction of the factory feed. I always forget about that. If you put this turbo on a non-factory turbo car, you would need to run a restrictor.

I haven't given it much thought tbh. I posted about selling it to that guy in the thread to give it a shot but I guess he didn't want it. I want to keep this turbo, I really do. Its just the damn inlet is 3" and there's only atp's inlet which doesn't look like a very good design imo and I have read bad reviews on it. If I can sell it, ill do it and get the billet cea 5557 with the ported s housing and begin the build. I bought a new camera so my money is back to going into my car lol

I already did, that housing doesnt fit with the standard 5557 wheel, its only for the cea wheel they said... -__-

Small update, I am in the process of having htp make me a 3" inlet/intake. That way I could run this turbo and have a full 3" intake.

And I ordered my flanges/ewg tube to rebuild my manifold from atp tonight. I need opinions on either ceramic coating the manifold or header wrapping it.

Here's their website for anyone interested, they are a little slow at emailing you back but once they confirm what you want made, its made in a day and shipped out the next. Mine arrived in 2 days! They can make it with or without the recirc tube and also can add a 3" maf to the end of it so its one full 3" intake/inlet and they will include a filer.

thanks but htp will be providing it. But I told them they should stock this item. Cheaper option then CPE. And it has the same flow potential of CPE's. All around Win.
