Default PTE 5858 - MS6 Its really happening

Alright so I figured I would finally make my build thread. I originally had hopes and dreams of being fully sp63 built and shooting for 5-600 due to other factors she is going to be built into a BT Flow monster until the block can be built.

Back story on the car - I picked her up about a year and a half ago in beautiful condition. It was a 1 owner dealer maintained car that only had 51k on the ODO. It wasn't long until I got the JBR PP2 intake an ap and some internals and got to work. Its been a process over the last year and a half of it coming into its current state.

Current mods -

Engine -
Pure Performance Tune
HTP 3.5" intake
Autotech Internals
GFB BOV 100%VTA
CX piping kit with TR8 Core
Custom Test pipe
3" Straight pipe

Suspension -
St Coilovers (KWV1)
SPC Ball Joints
AWR Adjustable Endlinks
Whiteline RSB

Mounts -
JRB Trilogy
Corksport RDM
Turbine Tech FDM

Goodies -
Cobb V2
E85
Snow perf Meth kit

Wheels & Tires
Stock Chrome MS6 wheels
NT05 225/40/18

So for the upcoming BT Parts

Precision JB 5858
JMF Intake Mani
John Russell Custom Tubular Ex Mani
Tial 44mm WG
Kozmic DP
Kozmic Screamer Pipe
Kozmic EGR Delete
Kozmic EGR Block
Kozmic Oil Feed Line
SP63 Custom Oil Drain Line
CPE Safe Seals
JBR Intake Mani Gasket
Grimm Speed EBCS
Bosch 3.5bar MAP sensor w/ pigtail harness
JBR OCC
Gen2 Valve Cover
SP63 Vented Oil Cap
RD Motorsports Custom Front Crash Bar
XXR 17x9 +42 wheels
Federal RSR 255/40/17

I hope that's it for now - have spent enough for a little while.

As far as fueling I was debating on 6th port but because I already have meth installed im going to use that to fuel me to the limits of the stock block.

Essentially I would like to shoot for 380-400hp and tq somewhere around 360 - I think with how the motor will flow it should not be an issue. As long as I can keep TQ down then I will be ok.

I will update this thread as the build goes along and as parts start to show up. I want to try to make this as detailed as possible because there are not many Precision 6s and it would be great to build a knowledge base.

@VegasChef;

For your goals the Methanol injection will be more than adequate, no need for a 6th port. But I gotta ask, why go through all the trouble of going PTE with Vband and having to get a new exhaust mani and DP and all that stuff just for 400whp? You can easily make that much power on the new GTX2871 coming up or a GTX3071 and that would probably come out way cheaper than the route you're going.

Also, the JMF is not necessary for your goals either, a simple port and polish stock IM will do just fine, since you're not gonna need more than 1 Meth injector to accomplish your goals.

I gotta say is be careful with those Federal RSR, they're GREAT in the dry, but if you hit rain, you might as well give up and just skid into the next barrier, drive really really slow with them in water.

essentially im buying everything now so that when I build my motor I have everything I already need. I know its TOTALLY overkill for what I need but I was more so thinking for the future.

I live in las vegas so it rains all of about 2 weeks in total throughout the year the rest is dry. trust me I dont want to rely on the rsrs in the rain.

I figured this was the answer haha, just making sure.

5858 is definitely a great turbo, it'll spool quickly and flow pretty well, should be a breeze to tune too!

Good luck on the build bro, can't wait to see some numbers.

The 5858 is an awesome and very fun turbo for both stock blocks and built ones.

It never disappoints.

Making 380-400 AWHP with a little bit of meth won't be any problem for you.

That's light work!

Some stuff that has already come in.

First thing to show up was the tail 44mm wg. I picked it up used so I have to pull it apart to see what springs are inside

My new rims also came in as well. Had an issue with them at first, they sent me one wrong color place I bought my wheels from was super cool about it and I had the right wheel 2 days late
First pic is the wrong flat black rim second one is the right rim.

Got some pictures of the old 225 NT05s vs the new 255 federal RSR

Pics of the car all mounted up with the new wheels. Car looks mean with so much meat under there. These new tires grip like crazy, autocross next weekend will be fun. Having some issues with a slight rub in the rear passenger side, I think i have to camber the rears another .5 deg to get it to not rub.

Another Day another run of parts that show up. Its like an early Christmas!

First thing is the SP63 vented oil cap. Its a 2 piece unit that just pulls apart.

Inside of the unit looks to be a small plastic ball to help seal the Cap

Next is the RD Motorsportz Custom front crash bar replacement. Yay!!! no more shitty FMIC placement. It will finally be able to get some proper flow and this will hopefully free up some airflow to the radiator. Really well built piece that feels VERY sturdy. I will hopefully get to throw this on sometime this week so I will get pics of the install and new FMIC placement.

Also got the GENPOO valve cover in today as well. MFW having a hook up with Mazda oem parts an getting almost half off the regular price! You can quickly see the improvements made to the second gen valve cover including the oil baffle as well as the raised oil cap location. This VC will allow me to run the vented cap. This with a JBR OCC should be all that I need to accomplish proper crank case ventilation.

Now I need to figure out what color im going to paint the VC. There are not alot of colors that go with the red exterior so I need to look at some ideas to give me some inspirado. The color scheme of the car is red and black already so maybe something along those lines maybe just some candy purple haha. I'm gonna drop it off at the PC later this week so we will see where it ends up. Any suggestions would be great.

Had no idea there was already an aftermarket crash bar for a speed6. How's the fit?

Fit should be perfect. I haven't installed it yet but I will this week. Once I install I will take pics and post them up so everyone can see. This bar is one that needs to be drilled for the mounting holes, its built to be universal so you can put whatever core you want to under there.

Threw on the RD Motorsportz crash bar yesterday. Install was pretty straight forward you do however have to be mind full of the radiator housing because it will droop and make things not line up perfectly.

First pics are of the car with the stock crash bar and the stock location of the FMIC (had a little friend try to tag along)

Stock Vs new Crash Bar

Getting it all lined up

Now its all done. I still have to cut the grill for the new location but shits starting to look mean!

Did you figure out the turbo oil return yet?

Edit: Ok, I see an " SP63 Custom Oil Drain Line", any pictures of said line?

Best pic I could find of Dave woods speed 6. SP63 built his motor/made the drain line for a 6266

So after some debating and reading I'm gonna build my own line instead. I read through @codemonkey post about gtx ewg fail and I have decided to build this one. Weld a bung on the stock line. 90deg and 60deg push locks and a little Line should do the trick

Aright, I've been lagging on getting some updates in but here is some noodz for you guys. Kozmic dp/screamer pipe came in.

Also jmf manifold came in!

I have everything for the oil line as well. @hanzodurr provided his oil line off his 3 and I took care of buisness. Line all cut with bung welded on.

I have all of the an fittings so I'm gonna get a semi test fit tonight. Install starts on Friday so I'm gonna be taking a lot of pictures then.

Is this a Kozmic MS6-specific DP? I thought we were still waiting for one to be released?

Man o man o man! It's done!!! Sorry for the lack of updates but there were some issues along the way that put up some setbacks. However the car is running! It is currently at the fab shop getting some things modified that I will detail later in the post.

There was the current status of the motor

After the removal of the cowell. I HIGHLY recommend doing this. So many times I thanked the Lord for having it off so it gave extra clearance.

So much room!

Kozmic egr delete (notice the wrong bung installed. I figured out it was wrong later down the line

Got the intake mani pulled off and got a look at my valves. This is after 70k miles and NO OCC however I have been running meth for the last 6 months and it seems to have cleaned them nicely. I didn't end up cleaning.

Dick decided that my block needed the 8 finger singer

Exhaust mani pulled off. In retrospect this came off rather easy. Pb blaster is your friend

Look at that little turbo down there.

Turbo and alternator pulled out

That was the end of day 1

Day 2 brought it's set of new challenges because new parts started going on.

John russell came through. Manifold was delivered in the morning of day 2. Had to go to the post office to pick it up. This thing is beautiful. Very well built piece.

Mock mount up with turbo on

The turbo still needed to be clocked quite significantly still at this point.

So earlier when I showed the Kozmic egr delete and the wrong bung this is the reason why.

This is the coolant return line for the stock turbo. Thanks to William dawson -I will tag him when on the computer- helped me figure out I needed to buy a brass barb for the egr delete and connect the line to that. The line has a reducer in it so it's better to get another barb to connect it to a second line and connect thay to the egr. I however did not get a pic of that.

Jbr manifold mock up

Make sure you fully tighten the fittings on the intake. I had them hand tightened and they were leaking when I did the boost leak test.

Built the turbo oil return line. Ended using a 45 and a 90 an fitting as well as a high temp silicone push lock hose. This was the most difficult thing of the night and took 3 nv nator guys to help fit it up and get it on. Thay was after rebuilding it because the initial cut of hose was to short. This was still off and we took about 3 hours to get it back on not fun. The an fittings will need to have the first flare cut off because it will be to long. Also use some worm clamps o either end of the push lock fittings to get it to secure. I will also reccomend to attach it to the turbo first then attach it to the block. I took off the turbo/manifold/wg/screamer pipe in all one fit probably 5 times and that is all very heavy.

This is with the manifold all mounted up. I did not get any pics of the wg/dump tube but once I get it back from the shop I will get some

I also removed the stock valve cover to replace with the new one. Timing chain was fairly tight for it being cold but it had a bit of slack.

Here it is all done up! Just before start up.

I had to create a bit of extra piping because the stock piping is to short. This Is from how I had the turbo clocked.
It was a super squeeze to get the htp3.5 back in with the 51r tray. Also the recirc tube was to short so I had to cap off at the end. I'm pulling the line and capping it off on the inlet.

So map is loaded and getting ready for start up. Everyone is nervous and I'm trying not to be a bitch. First things first, have to prime it. As I was doing that it got to about 45psi and the fuel rail started to piss fuel...I was so dissapointed. I got the intake mani pulled off in order to see where it 3qs leaking. I ended up buying all new upper seals for the injecotrs...these are expensive as shit!

this was the culprit

You can see how the blue o ring got torn and ripped.

This was all the following weekend and I 2as determined to get it running. By 11 that night I was driving home!

Currently the down pipe is getting modified. It was rubbing on the drive shaft in 2 places. This is what had to be modified circled in white

I can't thank everyone enough for all of the help thought the weekend. NV Nator I am forever grateful for everyone. I will get everyone tagged when I get on a computer.

Awesome to see the car is running!

It is a bummer though that the brand-new just-about-to-be-released Kozmic DP rubs on the driveshaft. Is this because your EM positions the turbo differently than the cp-e EM? I think the Kozmic DP is designed off of the cp-e one.

It very well could be. Kozmic from what I understand does a lot of research. I have @hanzodurr cpe manifold in my back seat. I'm gonna see if I can get some measurements done once I get the car back. With how much the pipe had to be extended it seems like it could be a bit of kozmic being off and the exmani being off.
@Mochi; you will be the first one out there with me trolling!

This build is awesome! congrats! Excited to see some results afterwards.

Sorry if I missed it, but won't you need to upgrade your intercooler when you have your motor built? I also have a tr8 and I think it supposedly maxes at 500hp. I just picked up a hta3076 and I think I'd eventually have to upgrade that to maximize potential. You have a bigger turbo so I'd certainly think that'd be true for you

Also that crash bar is legit! Didn't know about that. I'm not sure I've even heard of RD Motorsportz. I gotta look into that thing for when I swap out intercoolers.

Subbed for more updates
