Glad you got your kit !! But I have to say just the basic mani , turbo , dp ... Now if we could see the unicorn fueling sytem .. That would be something to see !

Hmm...I mean...i really wonder if this is the kit (minus fuel) what is taking so long to produce it. I mean...there really isnt anything thats to crazy...they just bend and weld pipes, buy the turbo and FMIC core. Not sure if its the fueling system thats "delaying" them or what.

I think Mad made a good decision in getting the used kit over waiting for who knows how long for the production kit. I would have done the same thing if I was in his shoes.

And with PTP Fueling ur kit, I gotta a feeling that it going to work just as well as RR fueling if not better.

I know u want to get that badboy on there, but I think u should get somekind of ceramic coating on that Mani & DP. Function over form is really all that matters but u just dropped some serious cash and aside from working properly I would assume u also want it to look good

fwiw, RRs fueling system was just a "5th injector" kind of deal, its nothing new, they do it on lots of platforms... like the toyota tundra:

And damn... everyone is being harsh saying he's gonna blow... I don't think I got any comments like that in my thread

Madv, you might want to look into a ported IM as well... just to correct the flow imbalance. I'm convinced that is a big part of a number of things that can add longevity to this engine.

When I got that stuff made custom from nrg its cost me 2k for the parts and labor 500 for mani 1k for turbo 200 for the waste gate. So 3700 brand new installed. FMIC I got separate for 600 before the big turbo build.

WOW! That turbo looks HUGE! Please get the turbo manifold jet-hot coated, not for looks but for function and longevity...keep the heat in the exhaust and not in the engine bay. I'll pay for it....just kidding!

looks like some touch up welding on the merge on that manifold by the turbo flange........I'd get that done up with a Tig welder and reinforced......

that's why they had to do touch up welding on the merge? Just because they made 420whp on it doesn't mean it didn't crack and leak. The fact that there's touch up welding on there concerns me.

Well, I didn't get much installed today, had to help a friend of mine install something on his car and it ended up taking longer than planned. I did throw some header paint on the manifold, purely so it's not such an eyesore, until I can get it actually ceramic coated. I also got the cold pipe tapped for meth.I basically walked around an industrial area with the cold pipe in my hands looking for someone with a tig welder, found a dude with no teeth but fuck he did an awesome job. Teh pics..

GOD! Exhaust mani looks nice, now. Too bad that paint will bake right off as soon as car heats up. Imagine how good it'll look coated...not to mention underhood temps/scaveging, etc...blah,blah,blah. Awesome about the welder...ha! I know exactly what you mean, I fit for those kinda guys for a liv'in. Can't judge a welder by number of teeth or body odor.

Get it reinforced.

If you use high temp header paint (available at autozone, made by VHT), it wont come off. thats what it looks like he used.

yeah it will. I've even baked it on to cure it, and it still eventually flakes off. Even ceramic coatings don't work all that well. The jethot coats are the best.

Jet hot coating is the way to go man. I had the entire exhaust for my 56' Ford done by them for about $400 bucks.

That was for both headers, X-pipe, mufflers, and all piping.

It was more than worth it because everything still looks brand new out of the box. No rust, no blemishes. And it's been on the truck for over 4 years now!!

It's hard to put a price on that kind of quality and durability.
