Well I bought a big turbo built gen1 from @mason; ..we'll begin where he left off so hopefully soon I can start updating everyone on how things are going. Right now at this moment we're trying to get the maf Cal dialed in then the tuning starts. its pushing 344 horsepower and 394 foot pounds of torque.

It was the maf cal now that's more dialed in then what he had its almost gone... still get the surging when I let off the throttle at mid boost but I think it's the waste gates

2morrow I will be getting another maf cal revision and working one some of the kinks before the tuning starts... its set at 20 psi hoping to push it to 25 psi well see how it goes

What were your ltft's before and after?

And be careful you'll quickly approach the limits of the stock engine. Be prepared for a build if you want to get the full power out of your setup.

They were all over the place... The maf could not read any of the incoming air whatsoever correctly

I told u bro. Popping dipsticks was the first indicator that your motor was gonna gom should of checked compression from the get go. Good luck on your build. Hope u have it up and running soon.

3 to 4k? Doesn't randy charge 1300 to take motor out amd them 1300 to put motor in?

Machine work is like 1200 to 1500

Pistons and rods should be like 800 to 1200 for both and then how much does he charge for labor?

Did u check logs? How was your car running before it blew? Did u also spray meth? Were u tunned for it? Cuz u need a tune to spray that much meth. If u were tunned maybe having it turnned off wasn't a good idea

It was already had a light knocking sound and tuned for meth. It was just a ticking time bomb . .... I'm taking the motor out and my cuz own a machine shop in El monte to do the rebuild since randy isn't coming back until march

Then maybe you shouldn't have had randy tunning it if it was making knocking sounds bro. Especially piping dipstick and shit like that. Well maybe your car will be build faster then if randy was doing it.

I honestly can say anything bad about Randy he's helped me out so much with all the problems I've had with both cars. His tune on my first speed was a great smashin on people on a fucking maf cal. And this new speed it was my fault racing this s*** out of it when I knew I shouldn't have because that motor wasn't going to be able to handle that kind of power nothing to do with the tune. He told me not to race it and baby it

Dude, I am being completely honest when I say that he is not a good tuner by any means.

He couldn't do a MAF CAL on johns car after he fixed it and couldn't figure out why. We figured it out when John got the car back.

But good luck with your car honestly.

For real Randy didn't put on the most basic of parts on my car when I paid him to do so. Then I have to spend an extra um hour while he fucked up map after map. I installed my parts correctly flashed my map from my legit tuner and gussed what happen, the fucking car ran prefect. You should have never bought that car. WASTE OFF MONEY.

Same heree he gave up on my tume cuz he couldn't get my fueling right. I kepy getting fuel cut and my AFR was all over tue place. He blamed it on my intake. After I got tunned by someone else all my issues went away

Just throwing this out there, just had a guy on another site ignore good advice about a sub par tuner. He spun a bearing in his car, due to the shoddy tune. The guy didn't listen to others experience, and kept telling us what a good guy the tuner is.

Proven tuners know their shit and have tunned numerous cars. Some of u have huge egos and are fan boys and need to just learn for yourselves and make your own opinions because no one will back u up whem ur shit blows. In the end its your pockets getting fucked not your tunners.

This isnt shit talking. This is giving advice and stating facts. Yes facts because will 2as warned by numerous nator members not to buy the car and also to check the compression.

Wow, not to be an ass but I saw this coming. The engine wasn't built and has a 3582. So you decided to turn up the boost? Even if the engine was having issues you shouldn't have driven on it. To be honest I'm completely surprised you haven't already been grilled. Had you parked the car earlier you would be able to build just by popping in new rods and pistons. Now you have to get a new crank and block. How do you know you didn't send any shrapnel into the head?

It actually does bother me that all you had to say was this is how you had to convince your wife. Is it really that hard to sit her down and tell her that the car will explode if you continue driving? Most women are pretty easy to reason with when you tell them that the smart route is the one that will save enough money to go on a small vacation.

As for the tuner I don't know who this guy is but any smart tuner would realize you're on the stock block and a turbo this big would blow your shit faster than a coke hooker on charlie sheen.

I have the block and crank and head ready just need pistons and rods..... my wife knew it was gonna blow sometime soon. This just made it easier. She's excited to see what it can do with a built motor

That stock handled 30 psi for 5k miles driving it hard on cheap autolite spark plugs. Now it's time for some real power ....

Hated to see this coming, but plenty of people have warned about Randy's tunes, my little sister could make the same changes in ATR and would have the same results, a fucking noob can do a MAF cal better than he can. When Josh and I saw Travis' timing tables, Josh and I put him on a map we had to get his car home safely without it blowing up. A timing table should NEVER EVER LOOK LIKE A ROLLER COASTER, Travis' timing was unbelievably bad. Randy can pull a motor and build a motor, but please do yourself a favor and get a REAL TUNER.

Not to mention, John paid the man for something and got less than what he paid for which is completely unacceptable in every sense of the meaning.

GL on your build man, hopefully you'll get the right parts to make big power, and by right parts I don't mean Std Manley H-beams, and OTS wiseco pistons. Get head studs and not ARP and if you think you're gonna make big power it's going to take a lot of Aux fueling and a good intake manifold... Best of luck to you

Randy didn't up the boost he left it at 20 psi. When I put the gs boost control it started over boosting but I just kept driving it like that. What happened had nothing to do with randy. He told me to drive easy since their was knocking and we had to find out why but I didn't listen to him. I just drove it hard and I blow it up... I also noticed that my son played with the meth settings it was on 100% on at 5 psi

Soooo, either that is a piss poor excuase or you're admitting to your own ignorance, either way it's pretty stupid.

Like I said, build it the right way and take your time. Skimping on parts while trying to make big power is the last you ever want to do.
