(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I'm putting on a FP HTA3076 with a steedspeed T3. It has a 4" inlet - but i'm pretty sure i've seen other people with the same inlet side. the hard coolant line and one of the soft lines are all up in the way of the inlet when trying to get the cp-e turbo inlet pipe on.... did anyone else run into this problem? it doesn't seem the hardline has enough play in it - but i haven't recruited another person to pull down on it while i try to slip on the pipe yet - just wondering if someone came up with a solution. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yeah, man.. I ran into the same problem. I cut the hard pipe and extended it using -12 braided hose.

i'm surprised most of you just manhandle it on - wouldn't it end up potentially cutting or at least crushing the silicone inlet? | |

There is many different ways to get there. I cut the pipe just before the bends (where it goes over the transmission). Then, found 3/4" JIC steel fittings from a hydraulic fitting supply house and drilled them out to the correct size (just a slip fit over the pipe is all you need). Braze them onto the coolant lines, I purchased 2, 45* -12 AN fittings and made up a hose to connect the 2 ends of the pipe. The end of the pipe that is closest to the starter has a bracket welded to the pipe. On the end by the turbo I used a rubber lined clamp, drilled and tapped a mounting hole in a gusset on the transmission case. I thought I had pics of this, but I cannot locate them right now. If you decide to just cut the hard pipe a slip a piece of 3/4" hose over the end, please put some silicone sealant on the pipe, and double clamp the hose.

| Not Ranked : 0 score it pushed in on the silicone a lil bit. i will tackle this later with my build, due to i need car up and running at the moment. but honestly i did not like it, i looked at everyway possible to fix it and seems you have to cut it and extend it! with rubber hose or -AN.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Honestly you should be able to just bend it out of the way, but if you cant there is no reason you shouldnt be able to replace the entire thing with a rubber hose and some fittings from home depot.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score well the hardline has the mount at the starter and has the tee off for the turbo coolant line - so that's probably why people don't replace it all with rubber. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score It is a pain in the ass.. yours looks closer to the hard line that mine was.. But i had to have one person underneth the car pulling down on the soft line while i forced the inlet on.. Its a pain.. p.s Glad to see you putting this thing on your car! Interested to see how the FP turbo performs on the ms3! Good luck

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score yeah i think i will probably try to fix it - don't want to be unable to put on the inlet without help. might do the rubber hose route though. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score so i cut the hardline in half and had my local race fab shop - Thompson Racing Fabrication - weld a bead on both ends so the hose won't slip off when clamped. I first tried aeroquip -12an hose (aqp socketlless) with clamps - but i guess it's too stiff to seal against the pipe (since it's designed for their push on fittings). sad because it was really nice hose and made the bends well for the soft line that's in the way. so i'm replacing it with regular heater hose with a unicoil to make the bend. i'll post pictures up when i'm done another note to people using this manifold - the turbo sits lower with this manifold so you need to extend your IC piping for the cold side. I have the turboxs fmic with the a 90 deg welded onto the end of the top cold pipe. it's about 3.5" too short so i'm going to have TRF weld a section on.
