You can, but a lot of people get the Grimmspeed EBCS for better control. You can run MBC if you just want peak boost tuning. I'm gonna run MBC with BT.

You can also get the Perrin Pro EBCS. You run the after market ebcs (Perrin or Grim) in 'interrupt mode.' It reacts much faster than the stock bleed set up, and allows more control, but requires tuning (but you'll need that anyways). Here's more info than you'll want to know, including some links to Perrin's site that breaks down how iwg + ewg work w/ an ebcs in interrupt mode vs bleed (Ignore the splicing part as they now plug n play for MS3/6):

what are you using to tune? i think AP users find it easier to use a EBCS where as cpe standback users use a MBC. i think cobb acutally suggest using a ebcs with the AP.

im drunk an could be full of shit though.

Yeah I just learned today that u "can"...but its prefered to run the grimmspeed 3port, if your not going mbc.

So I got a question...Looking at my stock bcs vacuum routing, this is what I see. 1 line from bcs to turbo inlet, and 2nd line running from bcs to k04 wg. But there is a 3rd line running out of the bottom nipple of the k04 wg, going somewhere underneath the turbo inlet, what line is this??

The bottom hose is connects the turbo to the WGAand is the boost source... I use the hose on my bpv for a boost source for my 2871. and the top hose goes to the bc which as you know regulates the boost, but it always bleeds some boost.

I ran it on my ko4. It helped me hit higher boost... The problem is (from what I was told) is that the turbo is still working its ass off... It doesn't make the turbo more efficient... I guess you could do the same with an adjustable WGA... This is how I understand it anyway.

yeah with stock k04 just stick with the stock bcs. Our k04 is pretty small turbo, which is good and bad. Its good cause its fast response which makes a turbo awesome for daily driving, BUT it runs out of steam after 5500. Mazda wanted a dailydriver hatch that had good midrange response for the typical fuck. But alot of us are not typical fucks, were young dumb full of cum and wanna go FASTER.

But it also means the turbo makes power rather easily at lower psi levels. I made 291 whp @ 17 psi tune that tapers to 15 psi by redline. Gsr1type made 300+ whp on 16 psi tune via Jake through Cp-e SB....good tuner produce good results. And the stock bcs will be just fine.

Once you start craving more power, and go bt, then thats the time to upgrade your boost controller.

ckmazdaspeed3- Yeah Im going to Tee off my bpv line and use that as my boost source, then run a line from my turbo inlet to Grimmspeed, and another line from ewg to Grimmspeed, then drive it down to Surgeline and if Tim wants to change shit, go for it..but that should be good enough to hobble my car down for a tune LOL

Yeah, I read somewhere (I think either Danos BT thread or boost tuning thread) Dustin saying that the way I have it set up and the way you are planning on setting it up is not true three port. I am not EWG, so I'm not sure how they work, but I am under the impression that they habe two nipples like the ko4 WGA and you set up true three port differently... But like you said, you will let Tim do what he thinks is best, and I'm sure that is the best plan... Kinda wish I went EWG.
