Default Turnkey solution for topmount T4 divided twin gate w/ downpipe

My MS6 is at the fab shop to have a DP made to fit my AFI manifold and TiAl MVS gates. As has been discussed, the t4 divided version of the AFI manifold does not leave clearance for the wastegates.

The shop I am working with makes and distributes exhaust systems for a number of platforms. They are interested in doing a topmount t4 divided w/ twin gate manifold with matching downpipe as a kit. It would be all first class heavy gauge 304 stainless w/ ceramic coating optional. I would provide my MS3 and MS6 to them to check fit.

As with any project like this, there has to be enough demand to justify the investment in time and tooling for the jigs.

So, my question is, who is interested?

topmount won't fit the MS3 and it would require a different downpipe

Honestly I'd be interested in just about any Twin Scroll option at this point that actually works. Stock location or top mount.

This will be a clean sheet design with a matching DP sold as a kit. There are top mounts in MS3s. @Papasmurf runs one for example.

My downpipe is out the hood, you can fit a downpipe down below but it's a very tight clearance unless you relocate the alternator.

My MS6 will be on the road next week. Once it's dialed in for daily driving, I will give them my Gen2 to look at.

I agree. It's a packaging nightmare. That's why it has to be an engineered kit with the mani and dp together.

Do you think a non round pipe would fit better?

Yes.

However, in this case I liked your original post while you were "engineering" the second half of it.

I'd have to look, but with the way my manifold is I don't think any pipe but a screamer pipe for a gate would fit.

Bundling a DP and manifold together? Witchcraft!

Sorry, was just recalling Tokay's opinion about bundled parts. Kidding aside this interests me, I'm planning to go built motor next year, and I have no intention of running this BNR after that.

Twinscroll FTMFW!

The only other mass produced option is BoostJunkyz and those were a nightmare with poor fitment issues IIRC. If they can actually get it to fit comfortably then they should sell a good amount. I would make sure the downpipe has a decent flex section to accommodate Garrett, Precision and Borg turbos too.

Boost junkyz had issues with the collector at the turbo flange causing an obstruction, uneven length runners, turbo placement being close to the transmission and brake master cylinder/booster.

You dont need to have a built block to run twinscroll, on the contrary it can actually elongate the life of a properly tuned engine. However most people assume that running twinscroll is an excuse to go full retard power wise and blow a block.

I've been waiting for a decent twin scroll kit for a long time.

Count me in.

Does this fab shop have a website? Or is this going to have to be like a group buy when the time comes?

Yes. They have a website. I want to talk to the owner again before I share that. They have done at least one award winning vehicle for SEMA. It's not some guy in his garage.
