I got my shipment yesterday from Corksport. I decided to open and inspect the items today and immediately noticed that something is not right with the vacuum nipple on the bypass valve I ordered.


Now I recognized that the two copper washers being on top did not match the picture in the instructions, so I unscrewed the banjo by hand and then rearranged it according to the picture, however, I found that it simply would not thread in. I removed the copper washers and the barbed fitting and tried to screw in the banjo by hand. It simply won't go more than about 1-2 turns in, so something is obviously wrong with the threads on either the valve case or the banjo itself, and I'm not taking a wrench to a brand new valve before I contact CS support. I'm creating this post so I have something to link to their support form.

edit: The problem was simply paint on the threads of the banjo. I cranked the banjo down by hand and rearranged the copper crush washers, and now the banjo threads in and out correctly and all is well.

I got my shift knob. Still getting used to it, but so far I dig it. And, CS, I think I'm happier without the pattern on it. Nothing to get in the way of the feels, plus I'll just consider it a theft deterrent. Now if only it were a dog-leg gearbox LOL.

You can take a wrench to the banjo bolt as the install instructions will tell you to torque it to 7ft lbs after you have the nipple pointed where you want it. Go ahead and snug it up to the top of the valve cap. If it's just so incredibly tight or not wanting to go in then let me know. More than likely it might just be a .1mm little extra layer of of anodizing that will just be cut through with threads. @MD1032;

The problem ended up simply being paint (anodizing) on the threads of the banjo. Once I got a wrench on the banjo and broke through the paint (which took a little more force than I expected, but still), the banjo now threads into the body of the BPV perfectly. Thanks, Corksport, for the quick response.

The 11/11 sale was on 11/11 so yes it is over.

Installed my steering wheel within 20 mins of it delivery lol.

It feels great and looks perfect. Good stitching, slightly thicker, good grip. Almost feels luxury.

Of course savings is savings but if u really want it that bad then i learned over time just get it and be happy. I can tell u right now i am in love with my car all over again bc of the wheel. Gives it a different feel and just bad ass man.
