Thanks, i over looked that.

I was asking partially for performance, but partially for PTV clearance as well. Dont want to get too frisky trying to spool a big turbo and end up making some contact.

Just a heads up about those instructions...They require the crank bolt to be replaced, but not the crank friction washers. We have seen, more than a few times, slipped timing when people didn't replace those friction washers.

Yes, it's more work, but what's a couple hours compared to a few thousand dollars in damage.

Thank @Scribbles for catching that.

Edit: There is also some evidence for the crank sprockets needing replaced, also. The friction washers create a depression in the sprockets, so when reused they don't get loaded the same.

Having just installed cams on a Ford Duratec 2.3... If your car has any kind of mileage on it, it makes a lot of sense to replace the cam/crank gears, timing chain, tensioners, chain guides, oil pump chain + guides + pump gear. It is also a really good idea to replace the cam gear bolts.

IMHO it does not make sense to put a new gear on an old chain as the original parts have already worn in to each other.

This would also be a great time to do valve springs if you have any inclination to do so.

And, I think this is probably more than an afternoon project...a weekend is more realistic.
