+1 on the harness bar as @El_Diablo; and I talked about in the Next Big Corksport Product thread.

Has anyone committed to ponying up the money to actually partner with CS and make a prototype of any of these yet, or are these all just things people want to see?

I'm actually more likely to be interested in a product that was developed this way, so I'm curious.

I think @El_Diablo offered to fund and build his idea. But sounds like CS doesn't want to get involved for liability reasons or something. But it also sounds like he is prototyping anyway without them.

@El_Diablo; are you serious about the splitter? Good luck! If it works out, I would look at your work.

If the testing is done right with the prototypes CS should jump on it. But if you end up making and selling your own, do you know the approximation of what you would sell them for? Or to early to tell?

Way to early to tell. I need to get the proper equipment first. I should have some new powder coating equipment by the end of next week. I still need to build an oven large enough to do the harness bars and get a good tubing bender. I will certainly try to keep them as reasonable as possible.

I think that this is a great idea on corksports part. great way to get new product ideas and get customers involved in the process as well. I do have a few ideas myself, unfortunately they arent necessarily new products but more along the lines of incorporating certain composites into current products . as well as making something that has peaked interest in the speed6 arena quite often but has never actually been produced.

Hats off to corksport, great idea you have here.

Not sure if this is still a thing here...

One thing that I think there might be a market for: rear sway bar brackets.

There's a pretty big market for huge rear bars in the MS3 community (for better or worse), but AFAIK, no one makes model specific pimpy brackets for our car.

I had a couple spare hours this evening so I measured and made a quick prototype out of HPDE.

Pretty sure there would be a good market for these...
What do you guys think?

There are a couple of heavy duty cast/forged "universal" type options out there already that would probably work, but I haven't looked too far info it because I'm not sure I want to spend $100+ on rsb brackets, lol...

I had to order replacement brackets for my bar through Tri Point because I wanted to keep my Cobb brackets (grease fitting), and they cost like $35 shipped.

Actually, that's the genesis of this. I was advising a friend with a mazda 5 and newer gen focus with old creaky bushings in both about drilling and tapping the stock bracket for grease fittings.

He's notoriously short on time but has plenty of money, and wanted to buy shells with grease fittings installed. The only two options I came up with were the cheap chinese brackets (which break) and the super expensive >$100 brackets of a similar design to what I fabricated.

Really, the stockers are no slouch. At 6mm thick, these a definitely the thickest I've seen and could probably support whatever you could throw at them. However, I think if there was a blingy powdercoated or anodized option with grease fittings, for say $50, people would buy to avoid having to buy grease fittings/taps/drill bits and do the work themselves.

Kind of like this:

Not to mention the brackets would probably work across the 3,5, and focus platforms. That's a lot of potential buyers.

@btstarcher, don't happen to have measurements do you? One of the things I noticed about the stock brackets at 6mm thick, is that if the bracket was much thicker, it would interfere with the bolt flanges. I respectfully doubt it's MUCH thicker.

Honestly, I don't know of anyone who has had issues with the OEM bracket. If all of the aftermarket swaybars could utilize the OEM brackets (or came with brackets as beefy as OEM), we probably wouldn't even need to have this conversation...

At any rate, Hotchkiss is who I was thinking of last night:

Hotchkis Heavy Duty Billet Sway Bar Bushing Brackets - Free Shipping on All Orders @ JEGS

...and regardless - More options are not a bad thing!

...and btw, I now have those Hotchkis brackets on my car with the CS solid bar. No problems as of yet (I think they've been on since last January)...

I think we might have an option for you soon, if you don't want the hotchkis.
