(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score By replacing the stock springs with the CorkSport Lowering Springs, the center of gravity is reduced on the Mazdaspeed 3 providing a quicker turning response and overall crisper road feel. It also has the added benefit of creating less wheel gap which gives the car a performance appearance and edge over the stock springs. The CorkSport Lowering Springs reduce ride height by approximately 1.2” in the front and 1.0” in the rear resulting in improved handling and a more aggressive stance. The linear spring rate creates a consistent and predicable driving experience, all while maintaining excellent ride quality for your Mazdaspeed 3. Crafted from high tensile strength spring steel with an OEM finish to ensure long lasting quality and performance, this lowering spring kit is durable enough to offer quality performance for ages to come and priced at just $209.00 to offer CorkSport customers a cost effective way of improving the handling and look of their Mazdaspeed 3’s. ![]() Retail price on the springs is $209 for the set of 4. -Derrick ![]() Installed on a 1st gen -Derrick Last edited by CorkSport; 07-13-2011 at 05:56 PM. | Not Ranked : 0 score I've ridden in one of the test cars and I had to double check that the springs were on the car because it rode so nice for lowering springs but at the same time felt sporty.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Fsds can't be lowered. When they hit the progressive bump stop the internal valve opens wide thinking you've hit a high frequency bump in the road, trying to smooth it out. Ok if it's actually a bump. Not ok if you're loaded up in a high speed turn and all of a sudden you have no damping. The stock ride height borders on being too low for fsds.

And I know for a fact that they spec'd the prokit for the regular 3. Our car is already much lower than the regular 3.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Springs don't make a car "floaty". It's the shit stock dampers not being able to keep up with the springs that cause that issue.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Testing spring rates is a little weird from what I have been told. It seems there are several different ways to do it and not a set industry standard. We are going to be looking at testing stock, CS springs, H&Rs all on the same equipment and the same measurement methods so there will be data to look at. For now all I have is a ~25% increase in spring rate over the stock springs. -Derrick |
