Default Corksport RSB bracket broken (check yours!)

Greetings,

I was under my car and saw one of the brackets from the RSB completely torn (the other one's faith will be similar, I'm sure). The RSB was installed approx. 2 years ago in 2014. Some rust is expected after a couple of winters but that's quite a surprise. Please check yours just in case!

Anyone with similar issues?

Brackets break all the time, it's no biggie. They're usually made by energy suspension and pretty flimsy TBH. Corksport could possibly replace them free of charge but they'll end up break again especially if you're seeing that kind of corrosion. I've gone through 2 sets myself with my JBR .125. You can get billet brackets if you don't want to deal with it again. Both JBR and corksport sell them. I personally bought these off of amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They're cheaper than energy suspension replacements, a lot thicker and feel more sturdy overall. I think companies like JBR and Corksport should ditch those energy suspension brackets and switch to Prothane; they're better in my experience and fit our frames fine. The only downside is no grease fittings but I never used them anyway.

Thanks for the advice, I'll upgrade shortly. It's surprising how flimsy are the brackets supplied by CS, lol.

Pretty much all brands use the same same steel brackets. We changed all our brackets to the billet aluminum style and we no longer sell the stamped steel style with our swaybars.

OP give us a call and talk to Vincent here to see what he can do for you.

Is the bar installed upside down? Mine has the sticker right side up and on the right side of the RSB.

Nevermind, I just checked mine and the arms are the same angle. Difference is the sticker placement.

Anyone with similar issues?

You need to purchase their billet brackets. They are solid. You must have got that bar before the billet brackets were out and came with it. That sucks. Those brackets you have there are garbage.

Depending on how long you plan to own your car, you may want to look into the Hotchkis RSB Bracket. 4 winters and no issues on mine, and I only grease it about 3 times a year which is negligent.

@Nliiitend1; also has not had issues with them I believe.

Edit: I see Corksport now has a similar bracket to the Hotchkis

Greasing a bar? Man, I've had my JBR bar on for over 3 years and haven't greased it but once. I also seem to be lucky in that I'm still on the original energy suspension brackets that haven't broken.

I guess it's a benefit that I don't get that much rust down in the south.

It would take some serious work to break the billet brackets. Glad we got you sorted out.
