The cs wheel looks significantly thicker than the oem wheel. May jump on the cs wheel if my steering wheel leather continues to deteriorate.

Able to control the car more easily even during low gear pulls when the torque steer kicks in. I love it, couldn't be happier.

Installed the Corksport wheel last night. Very easy install.

The diameter of the wheel is identical to the stock wheel. The thickness of the wheel is much more substantial. The material has a very premium look and feel to it, almost too premium against the glossy plastic Mazda wheel bits and my now 6 year old interior.

The design, particularly the 10-2 positions, gives you multiple hand placement options. I found myself utilizing two positions on my drive in to work this morning. One with my hands over the fat part above the thumb grooves, and the other with my hands a bit lower and my thumbs in the grooves. Both worked well.

I was worried that the straight sections (or almost straight) on the bottom left and right of the wheel would be odd, but they work well. While driving on the freeway/highway I typically hold the wheel with my left hand on the bottom left section of the wheel. I think the section being straight rather than curved is actually a bit more comfortable.

The fatness of the wheel takes some getting used to. You don't realize how skinny the stocker is until you try and wrap your hands around this thing. Turning initially feels strange, but at the same time feels like a major upgrade.

It's too bad Mazda wouldn't spend the extra $20 it would have taken them to provide a decent wheel, but then I guess Corksport couldn't have created their almost $400 wheel. Free market and all.

While not necessary, the wheel is a worthy upgrade and does improve your connection with the car, as well as gives it a more premium feel. It actually changes the driving experience, for the better obviously.

EDIT: One thing I forgot to mention is that based on my butt dyno the wheel adds about 15 hp. :-)

Agree. It makes the car feel more upscale. Strange how something as simple as a steering wheel can do that. I feel like I'm driving a new car.

I was looking at the CS one, but when you put them side by side like that, the AE one looks pretty decent. It looks like how the stock one should have been.
