CorkSport TMIC

^Actually the Corksport TMIC in the pictures as more 'bars' but they are thinner. This gives the core more surface area but can reduce the flow through the core because more space is taken up by the sides of the bars. Time will tell if Corksport's design, which is unique among the TMICs, has advantages/disadvantages. Which is better more flow + less surface area or less surface area + more flow?

Kudos to Corksport for stepping up to the plate.

Looks obvious to me.....$50 advance deposit toward a $299 total price.

They are obviously trying to get people to commit before everyone bails to cp-e's new top mount, and I dont blame them,
Personally I am sold by the ability to use the OEM top shroud, so I am in.

Plus I like to support a company that comes up with innovative and reasonably priced solutions. I have their RMM inserts, and love that idea/solution/price point.

We wanted to get the TMIC posted before the weekend, so it was kind of a rush to get everything in order. The $50 deposit goes towards your order, so for example, the TMIC that uses the stock shroud would be $299 minus your initial deposit. Also, we fixed the cart so you don't may shipping on the deposit. However, if you already did pay the shipping cost, don't worry, that will still go towards the final purchase.

As far as data on the TMIC, I have to sort through a bunch of temperature and pressure data that was recently collected so I can put it in an easy to read format. We are releasing several new parts for the MS3 in the next two weeks, so my plate is more than full at the moment.

Just get a meth setup - $300 for an I/C + $240 for a DO stg 1 kit is less than just about any FMIC excluding cxracing, and should keep BATs the same, if not lower - especially w/ 100% meth. The octane boost doesn't hurt either, and you keep the engine cleaner.

If you order the one with the shroud could that ever be taken off so you could use the OEM one like for dealer visits which i doubt that would mask it any better

Gunna go for the CP-E and keep my deposit in case I don't like something with the CP-E...this way I cover all bases, have good running's with CS, but hear CP-E's quality is extraordinary.

Just put a deposit down on this one. I was going to go with the CP-E because of their rep it was a pretty TMIC, but the ability to throw my factory shroud back on instead of it sitting in my garage taking up space for a cleaner look (in my garage and my engine bay) is a bonus. I have a 3.5" ETS on it right now that does an OK job, but I'm in the mood for something new.

Corksport, is this intercooler coated with something? What makes it that dark color?

I'm in the same boat you are, although I don't autoX. I've been thinking FMIC lately, but I figure for the introductory price if I'm not satisfied or have a need for a FMIC I can always post it in the FS section which means we can pass the deal to someone else later down the road.

Oh and I like Corksport, I have the SRI, TIP, and RMM inserts.

Well anyone sensible will do that if they have any kind of problem....

If I go in for some regular service, oil change or whatever, I might leave it on if it looks OEM ish at first glance.

If it doesn't they'll have some trouble on their hands because the pictures on their store show a black coating of some kind and the description doesn't say "the product may be different than shown".

My point exactly as well. In fact its all in who owns and runs your dealership. Mine is full of speed hungry and tune happy men, they all told me from sales manager, to parts to service, "we all tune and enjoy ours, so unless you blow it up with some COBB AP we will service and repair you without question". He had 2 COBB tuned 1st gens with blown engines recently but the only reason they were denied was because of Mazda Corporate getting suspicious and checking into them deeper. He saw my parts, everything I have done with intake to exhaust and said no prob. They would rather have me bring them service/warranty and make money than tell me to sod off and lose money. Its all in what dealership you take it to and how they like you.

Just for an example, I took mine the day I got it tuned by Joe and 4-5 months later the service manager went down and got his tuned after seeing mine, he told me he was glad he did, best thing hes done sofar he told me.

I guess I will just get the one with the shroud and yea it wouldn't be hard to swap it out in the case of having to go to the dealer for other than normal service. Soon as I get home I will be placing my order to lock in the price
