Thumbs down Corksport wont give me a super deal since I bought the wrong parts.

I have been burned again by @CorkSport;! I currently have over $600 worth of corksport mods on my car so I figured I would upgrade my K&N intake to the corksport short ram. I receive the intake and install it only to find that the corksport intake wont line up with their own corksport cold air box... Even though my K&N had no problem. So I contact them and long story short just ask them to send me their turbo inlet pipe since im running the cpe inlet pipe and everything will have to line up if its all corksport. I send the initial email 4/4/2014 and it takes them until April 15th to even email me back with a question of can they see a picture of the air box installed on my car. So they didn't even take the time to read my email let alone respond to any of it. 11 days for initial contact with a customer experiencing problems, mind you this is their "Sales Manager" Kelly Harris. So I then ask again just to please buy the inlet pipe and I was asking to pay the current promotion price they have on the intake and inlet pipe since that seems fair right? Of course not, they go on to charge me $30 above the current price on their website and then to add insult to injury $18 for shipping on the small inlet pipe. $118 for the turbo inlet pipe after $150 + shipping for the intake even though their current website shows both for a total of $220. Derrick Ambrose emails me and tells me oh but its on special...

Also note that when I bought the corksport $400 TMIC it arrived predamaged by corksport, the box was in perfect shape and had no damage whatsoever.

Corksport's customer service is so unreliable and unfair that I suggest that everyone go with someone else.

As for the intake issue I don't think I can help much, from my understanding you agreed to the new cost before we charged you, so you don't have much ground to stand on. If that is not the case and I am incorrect then that would be a different issue and I'd love to figure out why we charged you without confirming the total.
@dirtybmxer;
I didn't work with you directly, but from my understanding we also offered to pay to have the hanger fixed.

If either of you feel you still are having issues with us I would be willing to talk to either of you to hear the full story.

Everyone else, thanks for the support! I appreciate the understanding. I will admit that we do have issues and make mistakes, but if at any point anyone ever feels as though we are treating them unprofessionally, rudely, or unfairly I would love to hear from you.

Also, I'm curious if how often the rest of you end up getting voicemail when you call us?

Why would you even expect the airbox to fit with another company's inlet??

I think the point he was trying to make is that the inlets differ in size/shape somewhat, so they can throw off the positioning for the intake portion. As a result, assuming that one inlet is the same as another when it comes to having an intake fit into an airbox is fallacious.

To be specific, the difference is the location of the breather that comes from the valve cover.

If you simply buy the Stage 1 SRI, the elbow is longer and has a place for that breather to attach.

If you buy just the TIP, you can choose to have a breather hose on it or to not have the breather on it. Doesn't matter in this case though. The problem is the silicone elbow from the Stage 1 SRI.

If you buy a Stage 2 TIP/SRI, the breather is automatically located on the TIP and the silicone elbow does not have that connection. Additionally, this silicone elbow is shorter and thus the filter and MAF sit further back and slightly closer to the engine.

TLDR, you need the silicone elbow without the breather which only comes with the Stage 2 kit in order to fit correctly with the CAB. OP fails at reading thus made assumptions which were incorrect and will now pay the price.

I think you misunderstood the point of my post. What I was trying to say is that if you buy a non-Corksport TIP and then buy a Corksport SRI and Airbox, you shouldn't expect the SRI to fit into the airbox properly. Each manufacturer has a slightly different take on the TIP, and they vary a little bit in length, diameter, angle, size, etc..

Bummer man... I've also had a couple of issues with CS products, but they were always resolved very quickly and professionally. Unfortunately lately it seems that QC is not CS's specialty.
My two cents is this: Don't wait 10 days for an email back - pick up a phone and call them if you don't hear back in 2 days. You'll get much better service from almost any company when talking to someone vs email.

Post pics up of this said fail. Let's see what the CPE TIP + CS shortram looks like relative to the cold air box. It couldn't have been that far. I got the SURE 3" intake to work with my cold air box. Post pics of TMIC damage and intake fail so we can see what's going on here.

I couldn't get my cold air box to line up with the hole on the frame where the supplied plastic pop screw is supposed to go, I chucked it to installer error and moved on , sorry to hear about your situation.

sent while granny shifting and not double clutching like I should.

ive never had any problems with them, other then the recall on the internals, which was handled super smoothly. groan to you for not picking up the phone and waiting for a email after 11 days and bitching about it on here.

Any issues I had with my CS parts, or any company's parts for that matter, were dealt via direct emails and phone calls.

Bitching on a forum does nothing for either party unless you are really getting the shaft.

I have several of CorkSport's products. All have been quality parts. I know lately part availability and quality control has diminished but we have called them out on it and they have done their best to make it right. Last hpfp internals fiasco was a good example of them handling things. They are a far cry from scum like SURE.

This whole problem is your own fault. You made a bad judgement call. Nothing in your post is CorkSport's fault. Maybe it would have been nice to get the TIP discounted, but shipping costs what it costs. As for the TMIC, I have theirs and it has been great. Sounds like you are a complainer/whiner/someone who blames others for their mistakes. We won't support you on this.

I thought there website said the CAB only works with their stage 2 intake. I think the sri section of the stage two is different then the stage 1 sri. I hate saying "stages" but that is how Corksport has it broken down.

From Corksport's website: *The CorkSport Airbox is Designed for our Stage II intake and is not compatible with our stage I intake.

terrible customer service? i placed an order for some brake parts one afternoon, and later that day my debit card was canceled automatically by my bank (i had used it during the whole target data breach ordeal). spencer called me early the next day about an issue with my card, and was trying to work a solution so the parts could ship that day. CS was faster than my own bank at telling me my card was canceled.

did you even call them about your TMIC being damaged or just file it away as ammo for this useless rant?

FYI, here's corksport's phone #. I found it on the front page of their website under 'Contact US': 360-260-2675

They even have a fax #, (360) 260-2676, if you care to fax your complaints to them

Seems like a massive overreaction to me. That sucks but they aren't required to give you a better deal just because you didn't read it research properly. It sucks but I don't think you have much ground to stand on and saying nobody should buy from them is ridiculous.

I've had countless fantastic experiences with them, including with Kelly.

You should have just called. I called for a replacement piece under warranty and it was sent to me the next day.

Emailing is great in all but when you have a serious problem the best thing to do is call.

I'm in the same boat with cs right now. I have alot of their parts and have, up until recently, not had a problem. I run their 80mm race pipe and cat back. A friend and I were doing some brake work on my car when we noticed one of the race pipes (hollow) hangers were broken. I contacted Corksport and spoke with Kim their sales manager. She said she would look into it and contact their engineering department to see if they could figure out a solution.

This email is dated 4-1 and I've still had no response, even after multiple calls that conveniently go straight to voicemail. The problem I have with this "solution" is why would I want to go from a full 80mm pipe to one with a 65mm choke point??? On top of that ota and R&D pipe which costs less than my actual race pipe. Like I said I've called to ask questions but don't get any answers or even someone to answer the phone! My pipe is less than 2 years old and still under their warranty. I have not hit or run over anything that could break that hanger plus the break isn't at a weld, it's in the middle of the hollow stock they use for hangers
CS customer service is an embarrassment. At this point they have lost someone who was a loyal customer and still have not stood behind their product but choose to try and fix the problem with a lesser replacement that is more cost effective for them.

I knew as soon as I read this post what the reaction was going to be, and after reading this entire post conformed that I was right from the start.

If you're gonna post something like this, you have to remember where you're posting it and who it's about. Posting something like this on the forum you chose is like going into a KKK meeting and shouting about how much you hate white people.

Love the forum, but there are definite biases here.

@Dasleeper;
If you feel that the TMIC was damaged we would love to talk to you about it. Give me a call, 360-260-2675. You can also email, or facebook, or PM me, but I probably won't respond quickly, I get about 100 emails a day that I have to respond to, and another 150 that don't require response. As for the intake issue I don't think I can help much, from my understanding you agreed to the new cost before we charged you, so you don't have much ground to stand on. If that is not the case and I am incorrect then that would be a different issue and I'd love to figure out why we charged you without confirming the total.
@dirtybmxer;

@Spencer@CorkSport;

As for the intake issue I don't think I can help much, from my understanding you agreed to the new cost before we charged you, so you don't have much ground to stand on.

You have read something incorrectly, when I bought the intake it was $150 and at the same time you were offering the TIP and the intake for $220 total. You are still running this price. I simply asked that since your own intake didnt line up with your own cold air box that you charge me the $70 for the TIP as if I bought the intake and TIP together since I did not expect your own products not to work with each other. I'm not even asking for a deal im just asking for the price on your own website. I have not paid anything yet for the inlet pipe.

I however applaud your fast response regardless, considering my response times in the past.

I also question your @CorkSport; just answering "sigh", thats how I feel buddy. When you keep asking for help and get no responses or incorrect responses.

For anyone that would like transcripts of the emails, I will gladly provide them. Then you might understand my frustration more.

You can also email, or facebook, or PM me, but I probably won't respond quickly, I get about 100 emails a day that I have to respond to, and another 150 that don't require response.
