I'll double check. I believe it's the TRU 3.5. Not positive on aluminum or not. I'll check.

Awesome! Thanks dude! Like I said, since I have first hand experience with the TRU 3.5 all aluminum intake and your battery box, I wanted to help be as clear as possible.

I'm pretty confident that the TRU 3.5 all aluminum intake will not fit. The angle is a few degrees to severe towards the battery box so the opening where you connect the TIP and coupler for the MAF housing hits. If it turns out to be the all aluminum TRU 3.5, I would love to see some pictures if you can get them, no worries if you can't, to see where I went wrong.

Sorry about the delay.

Customer stated it is a TRU 2.5 and Aluminum JBR. He said "It was a battle. No real issues with the box. For the most part. It takes a lot of persuasion. But it's in."

He also said "No modification needed. Just had to be smart and adjust the inlet pipe".

So take what you will.

No worries, dude! Thanks for following up.

Geez, honestly I have no idea how he did it. He must have really tried to get that in there. The coupler on the TIP couldn't have been seated all the way flush then. But that's moot at this point, glad there's positive confirmation. I probably gave up to easy? Either way, @jbarone; there is positive confirmation that your TRU 3.5 Aluminum intake fits with the CS battery box. I failed at being a full asian ricer I guess

Ya. Not sure how difficult it really was. Though it sounds like once in it's fine, it just takes a lot of work to get it in. Might be turbo specific also. He is still on a K04. Though are are K04 still also right?

I am still on the stocker. What makes me think the turbo inlet coupler can't sit correctly (and when I say correctly, I don't want anyone to think its not on there. I just mean not all the way flush on it) since, at least for me, when I had the coupler seated all the way flush on the turbo inlet, the intake path was right into the side of the box. I don't doubt that if someone was 100% determined and had to have the intake in that they couldn't find a way but it must have been a battle.

Pictures would be a huge help in giving me some insight on how he got it in there and what maybe I missed? Again, no worries if you can't. Just like messing around with the car so seeing where I might have gone wrong will help me or possible someone else in the long run.

Awesome!

Hmm, strange. My intake pipe semmed to angle in towards the box more. Probably could be the way he has his turbo coupler seated that's giving the illusion that the pipe is straighter but honestly, I have no idea how he got it in there considering what I had to go through. Either way, happy to see someone had luck and I'm sure JBR will be happy to have a success story.

Completely off-topic...any chance you have pictures of your 3.5 intake installed with your battey box since that's the route I'm leaning towards when we get closer into spring .

Default CS Prototype Battery Box-Install review

I helped install the battery box in the pictures with @Ksky90; and the trick was to use JBR's mounting tab and placing it behind the retainer bracket by the Hpfp with the intake coupler at the turbo loose, this created enough space to mount the box.

We had to unbolt the 2 10mm bolts holding the bracket on push the intake back and re-bolt it down.

As far as movement goes it seemed solid and didn't move when revved.

ahhh, ok that makes more sense with the mounting tab. Gah. I tagged JBR so they could see all of this just in case another member had the box and wanted to go with the TRU 3.5 all aluminum. Glad you guys got it sorted out. Thanks for the input!

It's a very tight fit and the intake does make contact with the battery box on the corner of the box but I don't feel it's going to become an issue later.

Yeah I figured, in all honesty though trying to find an intake larger than 3in and not have a small battery is gonna have some rubbing somewhere so its to be expected.

The worst that could possibly happen is the battery box gets rubbed and the intake fits even better with an indent.

@England15j; Didn't realize you had helped Kody with this. Cool.

He also passed this info along:
"Make sure you put a disclaimer that the inlet pipe doesn't attach to the bracket. We had to take the bracket off and slide the inlet pipe piece with the grommet behind the bracket. Reinstall it and its nice and snug. It gave it just enough wiggle room to fit. And by just enough I mean. Shits snug. Hahaha"

Like you said above. Ha.

These last few posts make me happy for when I go BT down the road. I bought the prototype box from @WetzMS3. My plans were to go JBR 3" and was worried the box would interfere but seeing someone cram a 3.5" in there means I should be fine with some minor tweaking. Next time I mess with things, I need to remove that white plastic cover from the harness and rewrap everything more snug since that is what gives me the most trouble really.

I cut that same white plastic cover off when fitting my HTP 3.5" intake with this box.

I have the CS box and my JBR 3" (not the TRU 3" revision) fits just fine. So if you're going that route, you'll have more than enough room. I, too, cut that stupid white plastic cover off...you can fit it in there with the JBR 3" and the CS box but it will make contact with the intake. It also makes removing the box a pain in the ass so I just got rid of it.
