Default CS Steering Wheel (Gen 1)

So I was on facebook and see CorkSport released a bad ass looking steering wheel, surprised there was nothing posted on MSF...

My question is will there be one released for the Gen 2?

I WANT!

The only thing I'm not so keen on is removing airbags.....they can be a little unpredictable.

Looking at the pictures closely it appears to be red stitching. I like it! Do want!

Think I'm going to sell the 6 as nothing ever comes out worth a damn. We have to fab everything ourselves.

The controls look the same as the MS6. Will it fit an MS6?

I think you need to check your eyes. The MS3 and MS6 steering wheels and controls are NOT the same, despite similar layouts.

I think you need to read better. All I said was the controls look the same, which they are. I understand there are astetic differences between the two cars' steering wheels. However, my question is if you could get a MS3 airbag could you make this steering wheel work in an MS6 assuming the wiring isn't all that much different?

Oh, I read, and you don't want me to read more carefully, trust me. The controls are similar, but they are definitely not the same. They are located at somewhat different spots on the wheel. Furthermore, the actual metal structure of the wheel is different. You could figure that out if you spent a couple of minutes doing a Google search.

Also, it would stand to reason that the airbags would be completely different between the MS3 and MS6, so I certainly wouldn't want to make the assumption that you could just jerry-rig the damn thing together. That sounds like a recipe for an explosion in your face.

You know it's people like you that ram crap down peoples' throats that make me wonder why I stay with Mazda. I would love to know how the controls are different between the two cars even though they look the same aside from wiring. I guess this is why I'm getting more into Audi. I have more power coming from my 2.7t and I have a 2010 Lamborghini carbon fiber steering wheel on my 2002 allroad. I didn't have to do ANY modification to make it work. I can't believe how hostile MSF is becoming!

Relax. I'm sure you aren't the only one that wants this for a 6. Get a poll going on it to get interest up and I'm sure corksport will consider it if the demand is there. People just have different ways of advising you against rigging up things that could potentially cause you injury. On another note to those that think the price is steep... consider that buying a wrap from redline goods or auto exe and doing it yourself can be just as expensive especially if you pick up a spare wheel to wrap. plus you won't have the thumb contours and flat bottom. I love how corksport always goes outside of the box for our platform instead of making the same shit everyone else does. Big thumbs up corksport!
CorkSport and mudrunner2600 like this.

More to the point, I haven't rammed anything. I just stated, in relatively unequivocal terms, that the MS3 and MS6 don't share controls, airbags, wheel structures, and so forth, and that kluging an airbag into place doesn't seem like a particularly wise idea. What's so harsh about that?

It was just how the response was worded. I'm not in to make this a fight. Let's hope Corksport decides to make one for the MS6. If not I will play the lab rat and see if a MS3 airbag and this steering wheel will work on an MS6. I agree with getemslough on this being a decent price. My Lamborghini wheel and airbag set me back $1,200.

Wrong. The MS3 (MPS in South Africa) never came out with CC buttons on the steering wheel - only the audio buttons.

Many guys over here have taken the CC and audio buttons from a Mazda 6 wheel, and installed them onto the wheel of a Gen1. Case in point: my own car.

The airbags, however, I can definitely agree with you. Those should generally be left alone. Unless you're the adventurous type......

We make parts based on demand and it is not how many people post on the forums saying that they want one. We need people to submit product requests or it will never happen.

Fair enough. You're right, on closer inspection. I must've been thinking about the RX8's steering wheel controls. I had an RX8 GT, and while the controls on the wheel had identical functions, they were definitely operated by differently-shaped buttons.

$350 is a fucking steal people!

I come from the Audi platform where everything is retarded expensive. You'll pay $1200-$2k for a wheel like this. Its a little flashier, but not much. Damnit I wish this would work for the 6. I've got so much love for this steering wheel! Thanks for putting new shit out CS, even if its not for my ride

Mine was shipped yesterday and is on it's way here, so I will be able to compare them in like 10 days.
But I believe other forum members purchased it and they're from the US, so we should have some first impressions sooner, in like 2-3 days.

Until then check this image out, it should do for now:
