CS Turbo 93 Results

***DISCLAIMER: This thread is solely for the purpose of giving an idea of what to expect on a 93 octane CS Turbo tune in the DFW summertime with our crappy 93 and super high BATs***

Mods: CS Turbo, HTP 3", Stratified 3-Port, 3-BAR, COBB FMIC, CP-E catted DP, CS single exit exhaust

IATs were 111 and BATs were 126. It's safe to say that during the winter these numbers should easily be 25-30 whp/wtq higher. This basically puts the CS Turbo right in the realm of a BNR S3. The S3 spools faster and has a lower boost threshold; the CS has a better top end.

Those are decent numbers considering how hot it is down here. Makes me believe with E85 it would push a nice safe amount of power for those not looking to build, with a proper tune obviously.

Actually, might be some more power left in it right now. Stock BPV probably leaving more on the table. I ordered a Synapse from Stratified last night. Will update when done with that.

It would not surprise me if after you install the upgraded BPV, you over-boost and need to turn down WGDC %...

For comparison, here's one from my BNR S3 V2 on 93 targeting only 20psi on my MS6 from yesterday here in Southern Indiana. During the run IAT started at 93º and dropped to 90º, and BAT started at 117º dropped to 111º and finished up at 118º by the end of the pull.

@doctavus; Interested in seeing a comparison between the stock BPV and the Synapse on the same map. I didn't see a hp increase but I was targeting more boost than I could achieve. The stocker seemed to hold a lot of boost

How much boost were you hitting with the stock BPV?

@doctavus; I'm still on the stock K04, but since I bent a rod and built the motor, I push it as hard as it will go. On a cold day, I hit 27 + psi up to about 4000 or 4500 rpms. That didn't seem to change when I went with the Synapse.

I'm running 100% wastegate duty and targeting 27 psi to redline. I assume if the stock BPV were leaking, I would have seen an increase with the Synapse

I read that thread like 5 times and get nothing besides a k04 similar boost run from 20 tapering to 17 psi.

That is the white sheet off corksport's site, it points out that the turbo is efficient to I think 18psi but can handle up to 35psi. Its been awhile since ive read it.

Peak efficiency (~78-80%) will be around 2.25 pressure ratio (PR) which is ~18.4psi.
The efficiency will begin to degrade linearly down to 71-72% efficiency around 3.5 PR which is ~37psi. This is basically the maximum since the turbo shaft RPM will be approaching 150K.

You should be able to run 28-30psi all day long with reasonable BAT's, but this is also dependent on you supporting mods. Specifically your intake, intercooler, and piping.
Remember, the MAP sensor reads boost pressure at the intake manifold, not the compressor outlet. A restrictive intake, poor flowing intercooler (aka high pressure drop), and piping with sharp bends will make the turbo work harder to produce the desired psi at the intake manifold.

No problem! The attached image is the compressor map for the GTX2867R. This isn't a perfect representation of the CS turbo, but is extremely close.
Both turbos have the same wheel trims (therefore the characteristics will be very close) with the CS turbo having only slightly larger wheel diameters.
